To this aim, it provides the analytical framework necessary to ensure a just economy. While today's notion of economics favours the economics of extortion, this book proposes a model that transcends Lionel Robbins' canonical relationship between ends and means, as it proposes a broader notion of rationality incorporating the range of human attributes. In contrast to Robbins' economic rationality, economic choices must be based on adequate and good reasons, as Rescher claims, because both the means and the ends require rational deliberation. As a result, the book challenges Robbins' hope of turning general concepts like scarcity, costs, etc. into universal economic principles guiding human behavior in a vacuum. It disputes the idea that, through the application of the abstract formulation of economic statements unconnected to reality, economics can be rationalized in a morally neutral space, based on empty rationality. By contrasting the three rival versions of economics ―formalism (axiomatic), empiricism (technocratic-consequential), and institutionalism (axio-ideological)― the book shows that it is not possible to switch between them as they refer to segmented mental universes of abstraction. ![]() Free Download Petar Stankov, "The Political Economy of Populism " English | ISBN: 0367368021 | 2020 | 108 pages | AZW3 | 928 KB The Political Economy of Populism explores the interplay between identity, the economy and inequality to explain the dynamics of populist votes since the beginning of the 20th century. ![]() Free Download The Political Economy of India's Economic Development: 5000BC to 2024AD: The Gupta Empire to an Independent India and Beyond (Palgrave Studies in Economic History) by Sangaralingam Ramesh English | August 25, 2024 | ISBN: 3031670035 | 368 pages | PDF, EPUB | 16 Mb This book, the second of two volumes, explores India's economic development from the Gupta Empire (400AD) through to modern day India. Wojcik, "The Paris System for Reporting Urinary Cytology" English | ISBN: 3030886859 | 2022 | 350 pages | EPUB | 105 MB The first edition of The Paris System for Reporting Urinary Cytology introduced a completely new paradigm for detecting bladder cancer by urine cytology. This system concentrated on defining morphological characteristics of the most clinically significant form of bladder cancer, High Grade Urothelial Carcinoma. This new approach has been widely accepted throughout the world, and has become part of the daily practice of cytology. Considering that the first edition of The Paris System (TPS) introduced a new model of urinary cytodiagnosis, verification and expansion of initial material and data were anticipated. Based on evolving knowledge and readership requests, the group of highly experienced authors have created a new edition of TPS. This second edition includes areas and issues not originally covered. A new chapter on urine cytology of the upper tract, a rarely addressed topic, has been introduced. Furthermore, the issue of cellular degeneration is discussed in the criteria of all diagnostic categories. Examples of standardized reports are included in each chapter. Most importantly, a separate chapter presents data defining the risk of malignancy (ROM) for each diagnostic category to inform clinical management. New high quality images augment those of the first edition to better illustrate diagnostic clues and potential pitfalls. In addition to chapters on diagnostic criteria, current concepts of pathogenesis of bladder cancer, specimen adequacy and preparation, and ancillary tests are covered in separate chapters. A bonus to the volume is a comprehensive history of urine as the earliest diagnostic sample of human disease, richly illustrated with artworks from major museums. ![]() Free Download Robert Brinkmann, "The Palgrave Handbook of Global Sustainability" English | ISBN: 3031019482 | 2023 | 2687 pages | EPUB | 103 MB The field of sustainability continues to evolve as a discipline.
