![]() Free Download Statistical Theory of Heat: Nonequilibrium Phenomena by Wilhelm Brenig English | PDF | 1989 | 297 Pages | ISBN : 364274687X | 31.2 MB This text on the statistical theory of nonequilibrium phenomena grew out of lecture notes for courses on advanced statistical mechanics that were held more or less regularly at the Physics Department of the Technical University in Munich. My aim in these lectures was to incorporate various developments of many-body theory made during the last 20-30 years, in particular the correlation function approach, not just as an "extra" alongside the more "classical" results; I tried to use this approach as a unifying concept for the presentation of older as well as more recent results. I think that after so many excellent review articles and advanced treatments, correlation functions and memory kernels are as much a matter of course in nonequilibrium statistical physics as partition functions are in equilibrium theory, and should be used as such in regular courses and textbooks. The relations between correlation functions and earlier vehicles for the formulation of nonequilibrium theory such askinetic equations, master equations, Onsager's theory, etc. , are discussed in detail in this volume. Since today there is growing interest in nonlinear phenomena I have included several chapters on related problems. There is some nonlinear response theory, some results on phenomenological nonlinear equations and some microscopic applications of the nonlinear response formalism. The main focus, however, is on the linear regime. ![]() Free Download Statistical Methods and Models for Health and Clinical Studies by Shahjahan Khan, Md. Shafiur Rahman English | September 22, 2025 | ISBN: 9819608775 | 498 pages | Epub PDF (True) | 58 Mb This book addresses the need for statistical knowledge and skills among health professionals and researchers by presenting statistical concepts, methods and models in a health and clinical context, making it distinct from traditional textbooks. By using real-life examples and motivational scenarios from health studies, the book explains all relevant concepts and methods in an engaging and accessible manner, avoiding unnecessary mathematical jargon. Every chapter of the book starts with a set of learning outcomes to guide the researchers and users. Special attention is given to explaining statistical concepts with examples from various health areas, ensuring clarity and understanding. The book covers a wide range of topics, including data description and collection, study designs, inferential methods, statistical model fittings, and data analysis using SPSS, R, and STATA codes. ![]() Free Download Statistical Machine Learning for Engineering with Applications (Lecture Notes in Statistics) by Jürgen Franke, Anita Schöbel English | October 9, 2024 | ISBN: 3031662520 | 400 pages | MOBI | 40 Mb This book offers a leisurely introduction to the concepts and methods of machine learning. Readers will learn about classification trees, Bayesian learning, neural networks and deep learning, the design of experiments, and related methods. For ease of reading, technical details are avoided as far as possible, and there is a particular emphasis on applicability, interpretation, reliability and limitations of the data-analytic methods in practice. To cover the common availability and types of data in engineering, training sets consisting of independent as well as time series data are considered. To cope with the scarceness of data in industrial problems, augmentation of training sets by additional artificial data, generated from physical models, as well as the combination of machine learning and expert knowledge of engineers are discussed. ![]() Free Download Nicholas Kuipers, "States against Nations " English | ISBN: 1009589237 | 2025 | 266 pages | PDF | 5 MB In States Against Nations, Nicholas Kuipers questions the virtues of meritocratic recruitment as the ideal method of bureaucratic selection. Kuipers argues that while civil service reform is often seen as an admirable act of state-building, it can actually undermine nation-building. Throughout the book, he shows that in countries with high levels of group-based inequality, privileged groups tend to outperform marginalized groups on entrance exams, leading to disproportionate representation in government positions. This dynamic exacerbates intergroup tensions and undermines efforts towards nation-building. Drawing on large-scale surveys, experiments, and archival documents, States Against Nations provides a thought-provoking perspective on the challenges of bureaucratic recruitment and unearths an overlooked tension between state- and nation-building. ![]() Free Download Statecraft 2.0: What America Needs to Lead in a Multipolar World (Bridging the Gap) by Dennis Ross English | March 5, 2025 | ISBN: 0197698913, 0197698921 | True EPUB | 496 pages | 5.2 MB In a world that is multipolar and America has less relative power, the United States no longer has the luxury to practice statecraft badly. ![]() Free Download Christian Davenport, "State Repression and the Domestic Democratic Peace " English | ISBN: 0521864909 | 2007 | 254 pages | PDF | 1453 KB Does democracy reduce state repression as human rights activism, funding, and policy suggest? What are the limitations of this argument? Investigating 137 countries from 1976 to 1996, State Repression and the Domestic Democratic Peace seeks to shed light on these questions. Specifically, it finds that electoral participation and competition generally reduces personal integrity violations like torture and mass killing; other aspects of democracy do not wield consistent influences. This negative influence can be overwhelmed by conflict, however, and thus there are important qualifications for the peace proposition. ![]() Free Download Startup Finance 2.0: Value Creation, Tokenization, and the Next Era of Startup Funding English | 2026 | ISBN: 1041012934 | 328 Pages | PDF EPUB (True) | 19 MB "Going Concern" refers to the assumption that a company will continue to operate indefinitely, with no intention or necessity of liquidation or cessation of operations in the foreseeable future. The problem is that the "Going Concern" assumption does not hold for startups due to the inherent uncertainty associated with startups. Traditional financial education and resources, usually meant for analysts and accountants, aren't ideal for entrepreneurs. They focus on analyzing past data from established businesses, not on making forward-looking decisions in the uncertain and highly dynamic environment of startups. Entrepreneurs also often struggle to prioritize the allocation of resources between seemingly urgent matters and matters that are important for the long-term value of the startup. Thus, this book takes a value-oriented approach to startup finance. ![]() Free Download Standing Up for Philosophy: Armchairs, Experiments, and the Case for Methodological Reform by Joshua Alexander, Jonathan M. Weinberg English | August 22, 2025 | ISBN: 0192856987 | True EPUB/PDF | 240 pages | 0.5/13.95 MB In Standing up for Philosophy, Jonathan Weinberg and Joshua Alexander seek to radically reformulate the debate over armchair philosophy. Have results in experimental philosophy shown thought-experiments to be so problematic that they should be abandoned? While experimental philosophy seems to indicate that our verdicts on thought-experiments are vulnerable to demographic variation and unconscious contextual influences, philosophers have long struggled to articulate the pessimistic upshot from these vulnerabilities to error. ![]() Free Download Stalemate: Book 6 of the Axis Alternate Series by Max Lamirande English | May 24, 2024 | ISBN: N/A | ASIN: B0CZYN2B9G | 266 pages | EPUB | 1.80 Mb The year is 1941, and the war has morphed into a stalemate. ![]() Free Download Spurwechsel: Die neue Weltordnung nach Russlands Krieg German | 2025 | ISBN: 3869951532 | 340 pages | EPUB | 0.39 Mb Das Ende der Geschichte ist erneut vertagt.
