Architectural Tools and Equipments by 3G Elearning
English | January 1, 2023 | ISBN: 1984678930 | 322 pages | PDF | 31 Mb
Architectural drawings have historically been considered fine art, one that has evolved not only in styles and techniques but also in tools. Particularly in the pre-digital era, where architectural plans and drawings were finished with watercolors, and hung on the walls of the rich and wealthy, architectural drawings have been regarded as works of art. The drawing and rendering tools have certainly improved over the years. As time passed, architects needed powerful tools to aid in their creativity as more construction and real estate projects were required. These drawings were also considered works of art in and of themselves. Drawing and design processes became increasingly integrated with tools like compasses, rulers, and special markers, as well as modern-day software. If you are managing a construction project using construction management software and need to take a quick glance at designs, some software applications allow you to share and visualize designs using your mobile device. The art of hand-drawn drawings is still very much appreciated today, but digital technology has enabled architects and designers to challenge gravity, physics, and imagination.

Architectural Designing and Planning by 3G Elearning
English | January 1, 2023 | ISBN: 1984678949 | 298 pages | PDF | 79 Mb
Architecture involves a lot of strategy and planning. From the beginning, business owners, architects, and construction management must work together to find a cohesive project that fits everyone's standards. While it may seem like a given to put thought behind the planning process, some don't realize how helpful the art of master planning can be to any given project. Architectural master planning is the critical first step in any design process. It is the creation of a framework in which the whole project proceeds. Headed by a lead architect, a project's planning phase considers the entire picture through detailed work. The process involves examining the design and style of the building, surrounding infrastructure, local government requirements, and so on. It should also include determining the purpose of the structure, goals of the project, and other essential elements. By creating a master plan, the entire project is likely to go as planned and lead to an exciting development. Now, let's discuss how master planning in architecture benefits everyone involved, including construction workers, future tenants, and beyond.

Archaeologies of English Renaissance Literature By Philip Schwyzer
2007 | 256 Pages | ISBN: 0199206600 | PDF | 4 MB
This study draws on the theory and practice of archaeology to develop a new perspective on the literature of the Renaissance. Philip Schwyzer explores the fascination with images of excavation, exhumation, and ruin that runs through literary texts including Spenser's Faerie Queene, Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet and Hamlet, Donne's sermons and lyrics, and Thomas Browne's Hydriotaphia, or Urne-Buriall. Miraculously preserved corpses, ruined monasteries, Egyptian mummies, and Yorick's skull all figure in this study of the early modern archaeological imagination. The pessimism of the period is summed up in the haunting motif of the beautiful corpse that, once touched, crumbles to dust. Archaeology and literary studies are themselves products of the Renaissance. Although the two disciplines have sometimes viewed one another as rivals, they share a unique and unsettling intimacy with the traces of past life--with the words the dead wrote, sang, or heard, with the objects they made, held, or lived within. Schwyzer argues that at the root of both forms of scholarship lies the forbidden desire to awaken (and speak with) the dead. However impossible or absurd this desire may be, it remains a fundamental source of both ethical responsibility and aesthetic pleasure.

Arab Voices in Diaspora: Critical Perspectives on Anglophone Arab Literature (Cross Cultures) By Layla Al Maleh
2009 | 504 Pages | ISBN: 9042027185 | PDF | 4 MB
Arab Voices in Diaspora offers a wide-ranging overview and an insightful study of the field of anglophone Arab literature produced across the world. The first of its kind, it chronicles the development of this literature from its inception at the turn of the past century until the post 9/11 era. The book sheds light not only on the historical but also on the cultural and aesthetic value of this literary production, which has so far received little scholarly attention. It also seeks to place anglophone Arab literary works within the larger nomenclature of postcolonial, emerging, and ethnic literature, as it finds that the authors are haunted by the same 'hybrid', 'exilic', and 'diasporic' questions that have dogged their fellow postcolonialists. Issues of belonging, loyalty, and affinity are recognized and dealt with in the various essays, as are the various concerns involved in cultural and relational identification. The contributors to this volume come from different national backgrounds and share in examining the nuances of this emerging literature. Authors discussed include Elmaz Abinader, Diana Abu-Jaber, Leila Aboulela, Leila Ahmed, Rabih Alameddine, Edward Atiyah, Shaw Dallal, Ibrahim Fawal, Fadia Faqir, Khalil Gibran, Suheir Hammad, Loubna Haikal, Nada Awar Jarrar, Jad El Hage, Lawrence Joseph, Mohja Kahf, Jamal Mahjoub, Hisham Matar, Dunya Mikhail, Samia Serageldine, Naomi Shihab Nye, Ameen Rihani, Mona Simpson, Ahdaf Soueif, and Cecile Yazbak. Contributors: Victoria M. Abboud, Diya M. Abdo, Samaa Abdurraqib, Marta Cariello, Carol Fadda-Conrey, Cristina Garrig?s, Lamia Hammad, Yasmeen Hanoosh, Wa?l S. Hassan, Richard E. Hishmeh, Syrine Hout, Layla Al Maleh, Brinda J. Mehta, Dawn Mirapuri, Geoffrey P. Nash, Boulus Sarru, Fadia Fayez Suyoufie
