The Edge Business Performance Through Information Technology Leadership
Free Download Manoj Garg, "The Edge: Business Performance Through Information Technology Leadership"
English | ISBN: 0578171201 | 2016 | 240 pages | EPUB | 309 KB
Most business executives know that technology is a key ingredient for business success. At the same time, they are baffled by the complexity, costs and challenges in implementing technology methods they are not skilled in. In most mid-size businesses, executives think of technology as a necessary evil and a cost to be minimized. However, with the right application, technology can increase speed of business dramatically while lowering costs. When leveraged appropriately, technology plays a strategic role in a company, driving business innovation, increasing customer satisfaction, and finding new markets and new revenue sources to drive the top line. The Edge is a business novel that educates senior business leaders how to get an edge in running their companies through the strategic use of Information Technology. It gives executives the knowledge and tools to guide their company as it transitions from a mid-level to a high-level competitor in the marketplace. It takes the wondering out of the picture and shows business leaders what software applications and specialized technologies can do. Through its narrative, it simultaneously tells the tale of a company and the struggles of the family that runs it, while describing principles of technology management.

Free Download Dean V. Williamson, "The Economics of Adaptation and Long-term Relationships"
English | ISBN: 1849800375 | 2019 | 296 pages | EPUB | 4 MB
Do institutions matter in economic theory? Or is the economic analysis of institutions a distraction from the most important action? Indeed, does Vernon Smith's notion of the "institution-free core" of formal economic theory encompass that most important action? Would that render an "economics of organization" almost devoid of economic content?

The Early Medieval Church in Wales
Free Download David Petts, "The Early Medieval Church in Wales"
English | ISBN: 0752441027 | 2009 | 224 pages | PDF | 7 MB
Christianity arrived in Wales with the Romans and spread rapidly in the early medieval period. Evidence for its success survives in the form of early stone sculpture and inscriptions, reliquaries and other holy objects and frequent references in historical documents. However, there are also many myths and misconceptions about Christianity in this period, often created in the medieval records of early saints, but perpetuated by later writers. This book explores the archaeology of the early Church in Wales from the arrival of Christianity in the Roman period until the end of the independent Welsh kingdoms in the late thirteenth century. It attempts to disentangle fact from fiction and develop a clearer understanding of the early Welsh Church. It looks at all aspects of religious life in this period from death and burial to the construction of churches and the writing and decoration of manuscripts. Using this information, combined with the historical evidence, the author presents an authoritative overview of the growth and spread of Christianity in Wales. He shows that although the early Welsh Church had some distinctive elements, it was not isolated or out-of-touch but closely linked with the growth of early Christendom elsewhere in the British Isles and mainland Europe.

The EU and Russia in Their 'Contested Neighbourhood' Multiple External Influences, Policy Transfer and Domestic Change
Free Download Laure Delcour, "The EU and Russia in Their 'Contested Neighbourhood': Multiple External Influences, Policy Transfer and Domestic Change"
English | 2017 | ISBN: 1138185574 | EPUB | pages: 180 | 0.6 mb
The literature on the European Union influence's in its Eastern neighbourhood has tended to focus on EU-level policies and prioritize EU-related variables. This book seeks to overcome this EU-centric approach by connecting EU policy transfer to the domestic and regional environment in which it unfolds. It looks at the way in which the EU seeks to influence domestic change in the post-Soviet countries participating in the European Neighbourhood Policy/Eastern Partnership and domestic receptivity to EU policies and templates. It seeks to disentangle the various dynamics behind domestic change (or lack thereof) in Eastern Partnership countries, including EU policy mechanisms, domestic elites' preferences and strategies, regional interdependences and Russia's policies. Based upon extensive empirical investigation on EU policies in four countries; Armenia, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine - and in two pivotal policy sectors - the book provides systematic and nuanced understanding of complex forces at work in the policy transfer process.

The EU Timescape
Free Download Klaus Goetz, Jan-Hinrik Meyer-Sahling, "The EU Timescape"
English | 2012 | ISBN: 041569633X | EPUB | pages: 172 | 0.7 mb
The manner in which time is institutionalized is critical to how a political system works. Terms, time budgets and time horizons of collective and individual political actors; rights over timing, sequencing and speed in decision-making; and the temporal properties of policy matter to the distribution of power; efficiency and effectiveness of policy-making; and democratic legitimacy. This book makes a case for the systematic study of political time in the European Union (EU) - both as an independent and a dependent variable - and highlights the analytical value-added of a time-centred analysis. The book discusses previous scholarship on the institutionalization of political time and its consequences along the dimensions of polity, politics and policy; reviews dominant perspectives on political time, which centre on power, system performance and legitimacy; and presents case studies that illustrate the importance of time in the governance of the EU.
