The chief purpose of this edition is to rectify this state of affairs in one central area - that of autobiographical writing. The edition contains substantial excerpts from a range of self-writings by Quaker women, composed between the 1650s and circa 1710: letters, testimonies, memoirs, accounts of spiritual development, narratives of persecution and imprisonment. Six of the texts have been freshly edited from manuscripts (including Mary Penington's A Brief Account); the others have been transcribed from the first printed editions. In his general introduction to the volume, the editor sketches the history of the Quaker movement from the 1650s to the early 1700s, and considers the role of female Quakers during the first and second phases of the movement. The introduction also surveys the types and purposes of autobiographical writings produced by female Friends, and relates these writings to key Quaker ideas, concerns and practices regarding the inner light, scripture, testimony, plain speaking, friendship, gender and community. Booy indicates the wider context of the development of autobiographical writing during the seventeenth century, and discusses briefly issues to do with the construction of the self in writing. Each text is prefaced by a substantial headnote providing biographical and historical information. Footnotes supply biblical and other references, and gloss unfamiliar or specialist vocabulary. The volume includes a comprehensive bibliography of primary and secondary materials. The edition is aimed at all those interested in the history of the Quakers, whether they be scholars in the fields of religious, cultural and women's studies, or of history and literature generally. ![]() Free Download AutoCAD 2023 : Beginners And Intermediate user Guide by Daniel Smith English | 2023 | ISBN: 9798223282211 | 778 pages | EPUB | 7.11 Mb AutoCAD is one of the leading CAD software used to create technical drawings. Inappliedresearch, the development of enabling technologies such as miniaturized mobile sensors, video surveillance systems, and ambient intelligence systems involves the real-time analysis of enormous quantities of data. Knowledge has to be applied about what needs to be attendedto, andwhen, andwhattodoinameaningfulsequence, incorrespondencewith visual feedback. Methods on attention and control are mandatory to render computer vision systems more robust. The 2nd International Workshop on Attention and Performance in Computational Vision (WAPCV 2004) was held in the Czech Technical University of Prague, Czech Republic, as an associated workshop of the 8th European Conference on Computer - sion (ECCV 2004). The goal of this workshop was to provide an interdisciplinary forum tocommunicatecomputationalmodelsofvisualattentionfromvariousviewpoints, such as from computer vision, psychology, robotics and neuroscience. The motivation for - terdisciplinarity was communication and inspiration beyond the individual community, to focus discussion on computational modelling, to outline relevant objectives for p- formance comparison, to explore promising application domains, and to discuss these with reference to all related aspects of cognitive vision. The workshop was held as a single-day, single-track event, consisting of high-quality podium and poster presen- tions. Invited talks were given by John K. Tsotsos about attention and feature binding in biologically motivated computer vision and by Gustavo Deco about the context of attention, memory and reward from the perspective of computational neuroscience. The interdisciplinary program committee wascomposed of 21 internationally r- ognized researchers. ![]() Free Download Atomic and Nuclear Clusters: Proceedings of the Second International Conference at Santorini, Greece, June 28 - July 2, 1993 By Professor G. S. Anagnostatos, Professor Dr. W. von Oertzen (eds.) 1995 | 317 Pages | ISBN: 3642796982 | PDF | 20 MB The subject of clusters - small aggregates of particles - is a topic of primary interest in both atomic and nuclear physics, and also in other fields such as the quark-structures of baryons and cosmology. The interplay between atomic and nuclear physics is a particularly fascinating one because many concepts are common to both fields (quantal effects, shells, geometric structures, collective modes, fission, etc.). These proceedings contain a wealth of papers illustrating the interdisciplinary role of cluster physics. Some of them are reprinted from Zeitschrift für Physik A and D. ![]() Free Download Atomic and Molecular Processes in Fusion Edge Plasmas By R. K. Janev (auth.), R. K. Janev (eds.) 1995 | 500 Pages | ISBN: 1475793219 | PDF | 19 MB This well-illustrated resource provides vital cross-section information for the atomic and molecular collision processes taking place in the boundary region of magnetically confined fusion plasmas and in other laboratory and astrophysical low-temperature plasmas. The expertly assessed information in this noteworthy volume includes the most recent experimental and theoretical results presented in a convenient format. Coverage includes the processes of electron-impact excitation and ionization of plasma edge atoms, electron-ion recombination, dissociative collision processes involving electrons and much more. ![]() Free Download Atlas of Adult Autopsy: A Guide to Modern Practice English | 2024 | ISBN: 303172206X | 564 Pages | PDF (True) | 246 MB This new second edition of the successful 2016 Atlas of Adult Autopsy Practice is fully updated and refreshed with novel illustrations, and data refinements. It leads with pictures, focused text, and commentary on the autopsy itself as a specialist pathology subject. The content expands the coverage of specialist techniques with chapters covering post-mortem imaging, toxicology, neuropathology and forensic pathology from practising specialists. The addition of an original chapter addressing post-mortem histology adeptly contributes to the autopsy training literature. |
