In this ground-breaking and innovative collection, in-service teachers proved they can significantly contribute to the scientific body of knowledge by writing scholarly personal narratives about the dynamic and ever-changing 21st century teaching-environment. This collection offers a unique glimpse into academic writing and effective pedagogical practices which are suitable for teaching in the digital era. The book explored different themes related to effective teaching and students' engagement. The main themes explored are collaboration in teacher education; innovative techno-pedagogical approaches; redefinition of pedagogy within a flipped classroom; innovative ways of applying TPACK in teaching science; improving students' literacy skills using an adaptive tech tool; and the attainment of 21st century skills. Six of the seven chapters of the book were written by in-service teachers who were postgraduate diploma in education (PGDE) students and novel researchers. They received professional guidance to produce chapters which were double blind peer reviewed by experts in the field. In addition, chapters were critically read by an experienced professor of education who praised the initiative. Economics of Innovation The Case of Food Industry
Free Download Economics of Innovation: The Case of Food Industry By Giovanni Galizzi, Luciano Venturini (auth.), Professor Giovanni Galizzi, Professor Luciano Venturini (eds.)
1996 | 406 Pages | ISBN: 379080911X | PDF | 21 MB
Giovanni Galizzi and Luciano Venturini The food industry has been characterized by several and profound changes in its structure and competitive environment in the last decades. Although it is not a research-oriented industry, there is no arguing that technological change and particularly product innovations are crucial determinants of ftrms' performance and In recent years food manufacturers have accelerated the consumers' welfare. development of new products, by using new ingredients, processing and packaging techniques. Thus, food markets are increasingly characterized by competitive environments where relevant flows of innovative products, quality improvements and new technologies provide new consumption trends, food habits, market opportunities and ftrms' strategies. However, the issue of product innovation in the food industries has been rather neglected by economists. Few works have explicitly addressed this issue. After the pioneering book of Buzzell and Nourse (1967), one can count few contributes. Connor (1981) examined the empirical determinants of new food products introductions. Padberg and Westgren (1979) provided crucial insights about the nature of food innovation through their notions of consumer inertia, technological redundancy and incremental product innovation. Some case-studies provide useful empirical materials, but they are generally sparse.

Easy Enjoyable Effective E–Learning
Free Download Takao Shimomura, "Easy Enjoyable Effective E-Learning"
English | ISBN: 1604566345 | 2009 | pages | PDF | 13 MB
This book illustrates an "Easy", "Enjoyable", "Effective" e-Learning system called "Apty" (Automated Practice & Test System). Today, the Internet is just as available in homes as it is in companies, schools and anywhere else where broad-band communication lines are available. This establishes the social environments for e-Learning. However, under present circumstances, e-Learning systems cannot be used without conditions. The spread of e-Learning in elementary schools, junior high schools, senior high schools, colleges and universities is not wide enough. There are a number of issues with current e-learning systems: there are difficulties in installing and administering e-Learning systems; the development of courseware is time-consuming; educators are often forced to use ready-made products; student-users need to perform several operations to reach their desired page of interest because of the complexity of current e-Learning systems; and finally, quality e-Learning systems are costly. This book is divided into three parts: Introduction, Advanced, and Expert. The introduction part explains the general functions of the Apty system. Although the Advanced and Expert parts may require background information in certain cases, nearly all functions of the Apty system can be utilised according to the instructions outlined in this book. The Apty system is "enjoyable". Students can enjoy studying with the Apty system. The system randomly chooses questions from the pool of those previously created and stored. Each time students log in, they can practice a few new questions in a short time. In practice drills and examinations that consist of a series of short quizzes, those top ten scores appear in a subject home page, and anyone can view these scores without logging in. Since the top ten practice scores can be summarised for each week or even for each day, it is possible for anyone to get the top score. The order of the top ten scores changes very often. This can encourage students to study hard by competing with each other.
