This obligation is not only associated with the amounts of materials required in contemporary medical science, but also with presumptions that the knowledge produced in science is a public good. This book critically examines this claim by drawing on four case studies of medical data and tissue collections: the Framingham Heart Study in the United States; the Singapore Tissue Network; the Million Death Study in India; and the European network of sample and data collections BBMRI-ERIC. Each case study is presented as an exemplar for how infrastructures for the purpose of collecting, storing and using population data for medical research are constructed and frame particular versions of 'collective goods' in contemporary medical research. While each of these cases is situated in different geographic locations and largely distinct areas of medical research, they jointly illustrate how the making and operations of medical research collections produce particular 'collectives' and 'goods'. This book discusses the making of such collective goods in terms of citizenship to interrogate how the framing of medical research collections generates forms of knowledge that already attribute certain (health-related) rights and responsibilities to different groups of people. ![]() Free Download Processes in GeoMedia―Volume IX English | 2026 | ISBN: 9819693012 | 461 Pages | PDF (True) | 45 MB This book includes new results of theoretical and experimental studies of various scales of the processes occurring on the earth including the lithosphere, atmosphere, and hydrosphere. Intensive development of research in these areas is due to several factors: 1) the widespread introduction of computer technology, allowing the calculation of complex phenomena, 2) the invention and improvement of a new generation of geophysical instruments such as remote observation systems based on ships, aircraft, and satellites, providing a large amount of data to objectively reflect a broad picture of the processes, 3) the development of measurement techniques, creating opportunities for controllable and reproducible laboratory data acquisition for generation of new ideas and concepts. ![]() Free Download Proceedings of the International Conference on AI and Robotics: AIR 2025, Volume 1 English | 2026 | ISBN: 303205544X | 495 Pages | PDF (True) | 55 MB This book gathers selected papers from International Conference on AI and Robotics (AIR 2025), held in Astana, Kazakhstan, during May 9-11, 2025. The foundation of probability was laid down by two French mathematicians of the seventeenth century - Blaise Pascal and Pierre De Fermat in connection with gambling problems. Later on it was developed by Jakob Bernoulli, Abraham De Mover, and Pierre Simon Laplace (1706-1749). The modern concept of probability theory which consists of stating few axioms and rules resulting from these axioms, was developed during the twenties and thirties of this century. ![]() Free Download Privileged Migrants Across the Globe: Experiences of Inclusion, Exclusion and Mobility by Diotima Chattoraj English | 2026 | ISBN: 1032938099 | 194 Pages | True ePUB | 0.8 MB |
