Anaesthesia in Remote Hospitals A Guide for Anaesthesia Providers
Free Download Anaesthesia in Remote Hospitals: A Guide for Anaesthesia Providers
English | 2024 | ISBN: 3031466098 | 250 Pages | PDF EPUB (True) | 10 MB
This book provides a concise and practical guide for Non-Physician Anaesthesia Providers (NPAPs) such as nurse anaesthetists and Non-Specialist Physicians working in remote settings. In many hospitals in low and even in some middle-income countries, nurse anaesthetists are working without the presence of a specialist anaesthesiologist at their hospital. During their training on the job or at one of the few schools of anaesthesia they have to act as improvising do-it-yourself-teachers for one another. Later in their professional life, NPAPs are often organising their continuous medical education themselves, trying to provide short presentations on topics between attending to patients. This book fills the need for a quick- to-read guide for the everyday work of NPAPs and Non-specialist physician anaesthesia providers, addressing challenges such as electricity failure, lack of technical support, drugs and materials, equipment and support of specialist anaesthesiologists.

An utterly impartial history of Britain or 2000 years of upper–class idiots in charge
Free Download An utterly impartial history of Britain : or 2000 years of upper-class idiots in charge By John O'Farrell
2008 | 587 Pages | ISBN: 1407037455 | EPUB | 1 MB
Learn how Anglo-Saxon liberals struggled to be positive about immigration. Discover how England's peculiar class system was established by some snobby French nobles whose posh descendents still have wine cellars. And explore the complex reasons why Britain's kings were the first in Europe to be brought to heel (because the Stuarts were such a useless bunch of untalented, incompetent, arrogant, upper-class thickoes that Parliament didn't have much choice).

An Unlikely Trust Theodore Roosevelt, J.P. Morgan, and the Improbable Partnership That Remade American Business
Free Download Gerard Helferich author of "An Unlikely Trust: Theodore Roosevelt J.P. Morgan and the Impr, "An Unlikely Trust: Theodore Roosevelt, J.P. Morgan, and the Improbable Partnership That Remade American Business"
English | ISBN: 1493025775 | 2018 | 288 pages | MOBI | 5 MB
At the dawn of the twentieth century, Theodore Roosevelt and J. Pierpont Morgan were the two most powerful men in America, perhaps the world. As the nation's preeminent financier, Morgan presided over an elemental shift in American business, away from family-owned companies and toward modern corporations of unparalleled size and influence. As president, Theodore Roosevelt expanded the power of that office to an unprecedented degree, seeking to rein in those corporations and to rebalance their interests with those of workers, consumers, and society at large.

An Ultra–thin CMOS Sensor for In–plane Stress Sensing
Free Download An Ultra-thin CMOS Sensor for In-plane Stress Sensing By Yiğit Uygar Mahsereci
2019 | 164 Pages | ISBN: 384406513X | PDF | 19 MB
Ultra-thin chips combine flexibility and mechanical stability of silicon (20 μm thick) and maturity of CMOS technology. However, circuit design on bendable dies brings up new challenges that are not typically present in rigid electronics. Due to bending, variable stress emerges in silicon, changing the mobility of carriers, which may lead to inaccuracy or failure of the circuit. In order to obtain a robust, precise system, bending must be considered in the design phase prior to fabrication. This work focuses on development of a precision flexible CMOS in-plane stress sensor to measure the complex stress-displacement relationship of a Fin Ray robotic gripper without introducing nonlinearity. Within this framework, a stress-aware mixed-signal design flow is developed for the first time, demonstrating the feasibility of high performance, complex circuitry on ultra-thin chips, in turn flexible foils.Key points of this work: In-plane stress effect is maximized and irrelevant tensor components are filtered out by sensor element circuit configuration. Analysis of linearity and temperature dependence of sensor elements is performed. A stress insensitive temperature measurement method is developed. Localized temperature inquiry is enabled by a small footprint circuit, which is crucial considering the large lateral thermal resistance of ultra-thin chips. The readout circuit is desensitized to stress by using stress insensitive components in the feedback loop and additional layout considerations. The biasing circuitry is developed for minimum stress sensitivity, which enables standalone sensor operation without external components. The digital design flow is modified with minimum interference on the conventional steps avoiding extended compilation and simulation times.

Free Download Helene An, "An: To Eat: Recipes and Stories from a Vietnamese Family Kitchen"
English | ISBN: 0762458356 | 2016 | 296 pages | PDF | 290 MB
In Vietnamese, "AN" means "TO EAT," a happy coincidence, since the An family has built an award-winning restaurant empire - including the renowned celebrity favorite Crustacean Beverly Hills - that has been toasted by leading food press, including Bon Appét, Gourmet, InStyle and the Food Network. Helene An, executive chef and matriarch of the House of An, is hailed as the "mother of fusion" and was inducted into the Smithsonian Institute for her signature style that brings together Vietnamese, French, and California- fresh influences. Now her daughter Jacqueline tells the family story and shares her mother's delicious and previously "secret" recipes, including "Mama's" Beef Pho, Drunken Crab, and Oven-Roasted Lemongrass Chicken.

An Introduction to the Composition and Analysis of Greek Prose
Free Download Eleanor Dickey, "An Introduction to the Composition and Analysis of Greek Prose"
English | ISBN: 0521184258 | 2016 | 312 pages | PDF | 6 MB
Why learn to write in a dead language? Because a really good understanding of a language can only be attained by using it actively. Unlike earlier textbooks aimed at schoolboys, this work addresses modern adults who want to understand concepts fully as they learn. Drawing on recent scholarship where appropriate and assuming no prior background except some reading knowledge of Greek, the course combines a structured review of paradigms and vocabulary with clear and comprehensive explanations of the rules of Greek syntax. Large numbers of exercises are provided, both with and without key: a complete set of cumulative exercises and another set of non-cumulative exercises for those who prefer to dip into specific sections. The exercises include, as well as English sentences and paragraphs for translation, Greek sentences and passages for translation, analysis, and manipulation. A full English-Greek vocabulary and list of principal parts are included.

An Introduction to Transport Phenomena in Materials Engineering (3rd Edition)
Free Download An Introduction to Transport Phenomena in Materials Engineering
English | 2024 | ISBN: 0367821079 | 614 Pages | PDF (True) | 41 MB
This book elucidates the important role of conduction, convection, and radiation heat transfer, mass transport in solids and fluids, and internal and external fluid flow in the behavior of materials processes. These phenomena are critical in materials engineering because of the connection of transport to the evolution and distribution of microstructural properties during processing. From making choices in the derivation of fundamental conservation equations, to using scaling (order-of-magnitude) analysis showing relationships among different phenomena, to giving examples of how to represent real systems by simple models, the book takes the reader through the fundamentals of transport phenomena applied to materials processing. Fully updated, this third edition of a classic textbook offers a significant shift from the previous editions in the approach to this subject, representing an evolution incorporating the original ideas and extending them to a more comprehensive approach to the topic.
