Fabricating Architecture Selected Readings in Digital Design and Manufacturing
Free Download Robert Corser, "Fabricating Architecture: Selected Readings in Digital Design and Manufacturing"
English | ISBN: 1568988893 | 2010 | 216 pages | PDF | 8 MB
For years contemporary architects have been inundated with hype about the radical changes expected as a result of technological innovation and the proliferation of new digital tools and techniques. Though architects acknowledge that advances in computing are having a profound impact on architecture, the nature of that impact remains a subject of ongoing debate. Many noteworthy books are available that document the growing field of digital design and manufacturing, but few of these books address the truly broad range of issues that grow out of these emerging technological innovations. Fabricating Architecture gathers together for the first time twelve key essays by important critics, theorists, and architects, such as Martin Bechthold, Achim Menges, Kiel Moe, and Amanda Reeser Lawrence. Editor Robert Corser's concise analysis of each essay guides readers through the lively debate surrounding this topic.

Energy Technology Perspectives 2017 Catalysing Energy Technology Transformations
Free Download Energy Technology Perspectives 2017: Catalysing Energy Technology Transformations By Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (editor)
2017 | 443 Pages | ISBN: 9264270507 | PDF | 18 MB
The global energy system is moving closer to a historic transformation. This year's edition of the International Energy Agency (IEA)'s comprehensive publication on energy technology focuses on the opportunities and challenges of scaling and accelerating the deployment of clean energy technologies. This includes looking at more ambitious scenarios than the IEA has produced before. Improvements in technology continue to modify the outlook for the energy sector, driving changes in business models, energy demand and supply patterns as well as regulatory approaches. Energy security, air quality, climate change and economic competitiveness are increasingly being factored in by decision makers. Energy Technology Perspectives 2017 (ETP 2017) details these trends as well as the technological advances that will shape energy security and environmental sustainability for decades to come. For the first time, ETP 2017 looks at how far clean energy technologies could move the energy sector towards higher climate change ambitions if technological innovations were pushed to their maximum practical limits. The analysis shows that, while policy support would be needed beyond anything seen to date, such a push could result in greenhouse gas emission levels that are consistent with the mid-point of the target temperature range of the global Paris Agreement on climate change. The analysis also indicates that regardless of the pathway chosen for the energy sector transformation, policy action is needed to ensure that multiple economic, security and other benefits to the accelerated deployment of clean energy technologies are realised through a systematic and co-ordinated approach. ETP 2017 also features the annual IEA Tracking Clean Energy Progress report, which shows that the current progress in clean energy technology development and deployment remains sub-optimal. It highlights that progress has been substantial where policies have provided clear signals on the value of technology innovation. But many technology areas still suffer from a lack of financial and policy support.

Elizabeth The Life of Elizabeth Taylor
Free Download Alexander Walker, "Elizabeth: The Life of Elizabeth Taylor"
English | ISBN: 0802137695 | 2001 | 448 pages | EPUB | 6 MB
Elizabeth Taylor is one of our last great movie stars. In Elizabeth, Alexander Walker presents the story of a life that was lived, on and off camera, with a passion rarely matched by even today's outspoken celebrities. From her privileged childhood, the influence of her strong-willed mother, and her rise to stardom in films like National Velvet, A Place in the Sun, and Cleopatra, to her husbands, her obsession with jewelry, and her amazing resilience in the face of public scandal and personal tragedy, Walker shows us the real Elizabeth-as an actress and as a person determined to live on her own terms.
