The words we use to form concepts can also powerfully shape a design project from start to finish-giving clarity to goals, precision to names and structure, and purpose to stylistic choices. ![]() Free Download Design Thinking Research: Innovation - Insight - Then and Now English | 2023 | ISBN: 3031361024 | 706 Pages | PDF EPUB (True) | 32 MB Extensive research conducted at the Hasso Plattner Design Thinking Research Program at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California, USA, and at the Hasso Plattner Institute in Potsdam, Germany, has yielded valuable insights on why and how design thinking works. The participating researchers have identified metrics, developed models, and conducted studies, which are featured in this book and in the previous volumes of this series. ![]() Free Download Design Techniques for Origami Tessellations English | 2024 | ISBN: 1032453842 | 131 Pages | PDF (True) | 65 MB This book begins by explaining general design methods, the history and definitions of origami tessellations, and the geometric features of flat origami, before moving on to introduce a brand-new design method: the "twist-based design method." This method generates base parts that connect "twist patterns" (that can be folded with a twist) without using a lattice. Therefore, it can generate base parts such as regular pentagons, which cannot be generated with more conventional methods, and can generate new origami tessellations connected to them. ![]() Free Download Design Methods for Reducing Failure Probabilities with Examples from Electrical Engineering English | 2023 | ISBN: 303137018X | 153 Pages | PDF EPUB (True) | 17 MB This book deals with efficient estimation and optimization methods to improve the design of electrotechnical devices under uncertainty. Uncertainties caused by manufacturing imperfections, natural material variations, or unpredictable environmental influences, may lead, in turn, to deviations in operation. This book describes two novel methods for yield (or failure probability) estimation. Both are hybrid methods that combine the accuracy of Monte Carlo with the efficiency of surrogate models. The SC-Hybrid approach uses stochastic collocation and adjoint error indicators. The non-intrusive GPR-Hybrid approach consists of a Gaussian process regression that allows surrogate model updates on the fly. Furthermore, the book proposes an adaptive Newton-Monte-Carlo (Newton-MC) method for efficient yield optimization. In turn, to solve optimization problems with mixed gradient information, two novel Hermite-type optimization methods are described. All the proposed methods have been numerically evaluated on two benchmark problems, such as a rectangular waveguide and a permanent magnet synchronous machine. Results showed that the new methods can significantly reduce the computational effort of yield estimation, and of single- and multi-objective yield optimization under uncertainty. All in all, this book presents novel strategies for quantification of uncertainty and optimization under uncertainty, with practical details to improve the design of electrotechnical devices, yet the methods can be used for any design process affected by uncertainties. ![]() Free Download Design E Stampa 3d. Un Percorso Innovativo Dall'idea Al Prodotto: Scopri Come La Creazione Di Prototipi Puo' Definire Il Tuo Successo Italiano | 2023 | ASIN : B0CC2FN6WD | 91 Pages | EPUB | 1.1 MB ![]() Free Download Design Automation and Applications for Emerging Reconfigurable Nanotechnologies English | 2023 | ISBN: 3031379233 | 382 Pages | PDF EPUB (True) | 23 MB This book is a single-source solution for anyone who is interested in exploring emerging reconfigurable nanotechnology at the circuit level. It lays down a solid foundation for circuits based on this technology having considered both manual as well as automated design flows. The authors discuss the entire design flow, consisting of both logic and physical synthesis for reconfigurable nanotechnology-based circuits. The authors describe how transistor reconfigurable properties can be exploited at the logic level to have a more efficient circuit design flow, as compared to conventional design flows suited for CMOS.Further, the book provides insights into hardware security features that can be intrinsically developed using the runtime reconfigurable features of this nanotechnology. ![]() Free Download Desert Channels [OP]: The Impulse to Conserve by Libby Robin, Chris Dickman, Mandy Martin English | August 26, 2011 | ISBN: 9780643103535 | 352 pages | EPUB | 39 Mb Desert Channels is a book that combines art, science and history to explore the impulse to conserve in the distinctive Desert Channels country of south-western Queensland. The region is the source of Australia's major inland-flowing desert rivers. Some of Australia's most interesting new conservation initiatives are in this region, including partnerships between private landholders, non-government conservation organizations that buy and manage land (including Bush Heritage Australia and the Australian Wildlife Conservancy) and community-based natural resource management groups such as Desert Channels Queensland. |
