Mentoring Startups Getting the most out of mentoring in a startup environment
Free Download George Vukotich Ph.D., "Mentoring Startups: Getting the most out of mentoring in a startup environment"
English | 2016 | pages: 198 | ISBN: 1537792199 | EPUB | 1,2 mb
Mentoring Startups is a unique book. While there are many books on mentoring this is the only one that focuses on mentoring startups. With the growth in individuals starting and running their own companies the challenge of how to find mentors that can help has become a top priority. Unlike a corporate environment where programs are designed with timelines and assigned mentors, the startup world leaves the entrepreneur on their own to find the help and resources they need. This book goes into detail on both sides of the equation. It helps the mentee/entrepreneur understand what it takes to find the right kind of mentor at the right time and it also helps the potential mentor understand how to use the skills they have developed to help the entrepreneur. For mentors having skills is one thing, being able to use them effectively is another Bringing both the mentor and mentee together so they can have an effective relationship is the key to success. This book looks at how to find the right mentor, how to get the relationship off to a good start, and what to do if things get off-track. It provides a number of tools to keep the relationship focused and gives guidance on what to do when. It is a resource to use on an ongoing basis to keep the relationship progressing forward. George Vukotich, Ph.D. works with startups and the incubators and accelerators that help them become more successful. After a successful career in larger organizations including; IBM, Accenture, and BP he moved into higher education where he developed an interest in disruption and innovation which led him to the startup world. As the Senior Vice-President of 1871 he built the programs that were responsible for it being recognized as the #1 incubator in the U.S. His work included the design of mentoring programs and the recruiting and development of over 500 mentors in a wide range of areas that gave the 400 plus member companies the guidance and direction they needed. His work also included the design of the overall education process, workshops, and networking. He is frequently contacted by incubators from around the world for his expertise and is often referred to as; "The man behind making 1871 run." He is on the advisory board of a number of companies and works to help improve the startup eco-system. Feel free to reach out to George at his LinkedIn link:

Memory in German Romanticism
Free Download Christopher R. Clason, "Memory in German Romanticism "
English | ISBN: 1032319844 | 2023 | 264 pages | PDF | 3 MB
Memory in German Romanticism treats memory as a core element in the production and reception of German art and literature of the Romantic era. The contributors explore the artistic expression of memory under the categories of imagination, image, and reception. Romantic literary aesthetics raises the subjective imagination to a level of primary importance for the creation of art. It goes beyond challenging reason and objectivity, two leading intellectual faculties of eighteenth-century Enlightenment, and instead elevates subjective invention to form and sustain memory and imagination. Indeed, memory and imagination, both cognitive functions, seek to assemble the elements of one's own experience, either directed toward the past (memory) or toward the future (imagination), coherently into a narrative. And like memories, images hold the potential to elicit charged emotional responses; those responses live on through time, becoming part of the spatial and temporal reception of the artist and their work. While imagination generates and images trigger and capture memories, reception creates a temporal-spatial context for art, organizing it and rendering it "memorable," both for good and for bad. Thus, through the categories of imagination, image, and reception, this volume explores the phenomenon of German Romantic memory from different perspectives and in new contexts.

Memories of the Classical Underworld in Irish and Caribbean Literature
Free Download Madeleine Scherer, "Memories of the Classical Underworld in Irish and Caribbean Literature "
English | ISBN: 3110673886 | 2021 | 350 pages | EPUB | 2 MB
Classical Memories is an intervention into the field of adaptation studies, taking the example of classical reception to show that adaptation is a process that can be driven by and produce intertextual memories. I see 'classical memories' as a memory-driven type of adaptation that draws on and reproduces schematic and otherwise de-contextualised conceptions of antiquity and its cultural 'exports' in, broadly speaking, the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. These memory-driven adaptations differ, often in significant ways, from more traditional adaptations that seek to either continue or deconstruct a long-running tradition that can be traced back to antiquity as well as its canonical points of reception in later ages. When investigating such a popular and widespread set of narratives, characters, and images like those that remain of Graeco-Roman antiquity, terms like 'adaptation' and 'reception' could and should be nuanced further to allow us to understand the complex interactions between modern works and classical antiquity in more detail, particularly when it pertains to postcolonial or post-digital classical reception. Memories of a Lost War American Poetic Responses to the Vietnam War
Free Download Memories of a Lost War: American Poetic Responses to the Vietnam War By Chatterji, Subarno
2001 | 272 Pages | ISBN: 019818767X | PDF | 1 MB
In this unique and significant addition to Vietnam studies,Memories of a Lost Waranalyzes the poems written by American veterans, protest poets, and Vietnamese, within political, aesthetic, and cultural contexts. Drawing on a wealth of material often published in small presses and journals, the book highlights the horrors of war and the continuing traumas of veterans in post-Vietnam America. In its inclusion of Vietnamese perspectives, the book marks a departure from earlier works that have largely concentrated on Vietnam as a war rather than a country.

Memorialising the Holocaust in Human Rights Museums
Free Download Katrin Antweiler, "Memorialising the Holocaust in Human Rights Museums "
English | ISBN: 3110787970 | 2023 | 250 pages | PDF | 2 MB
This book provides an analysis of the forms and functions of Holocaust memorialisation in human rights museums by asking about the impact of global memory politics on how we imagine the present and the future. It compares three human rights museums and their respective emDescriptionment of the Holocaust and seeks to illuminate how, in this specific setting, memory politics simultaneously function as future politics because they delineate a normative ideal of the citizen-subject, its set of values and aspirations for the future: that of the historically aware human rights advocate. More than an ethical practice, engaging with the Holocaust is used as a means of asserting one's standing on "the right side of history"; the memorialisation of the Holocaust has thus become a means of governmentality, a way of governing contemporary citizen-subjects. The linking of public memory of the Holocaust with the human rights project is often presented as highly beneficial for all members of what is often called the "global community". Yet this book argues that this specific constellation of memory also has the ability to function as an exercise of power, and thus runs the risk of reinforcing structural oppression. With its novel theoretical approach this book not only contributes to Memory Studies but also connects Holocaust memory to Studies of Global Governmentality and the debate on decolonising memory politics.
