Semiconductor Device Fabrication Process
Semiconductor Device Fabrication Process by Prasun Barua
English | 2022 | ISBN: N/A | ASIN: B0BQMH2T2G | 290 pages | EPUB | 4.32 Mb
Welcome to Semiconductor Device Fabrication Process! This is a nonfiction science book which contains various topics on semiconductor device fabrication process. The process of fabricating semiconductor devices, which are primarily integrated circuit (IC) chips like modern computer processors, microcontrollers, and memory chips like NAND flash and DRAM found in common electrical and electronic equipment, is known as semiconductor device manufacturing. Electronic circuits are gradually built on a wafer consisting of pure semiconducting material using a multi-step sequence of photolithographic and chemical processing techniques such as surface passivation, thermal oxidation, planar diffusion, and junction isolation. Although different compound semiconductors are utilized for specialized applications, silicon is virtually always employed. From commencement to packaged chips ready for distribution, the process requires at least six to eight weeks excluding the circuit design, and it is carried out in highly specialized semiconductor fabrication plants, also known as foundries or fabs. The main area of a fab, the clean room, is where all fabrication takes place. Each semiconductor component product takes hundreds of processes to be produced. After sorting, the process is divided into eight steps such as wafer processing, oxidation, photography, etching, film deposition, interconnection, testing, and packaging. Thanks for reading the book.

Salinas A History of Race and Resilience in an Agricultural City
Carol Lynn McKibben, "Salinas: A History of Race and Resilience in an Agricultural City"
English | ISBN: 1503629910 | 2022 | 464 pages | EPUB | 4 MB
An ambitious history of a California city that epitomizes the history of race relations in modern America. Although much has been written about the urban-rural divide in America, the city of Salinas, California, like so many other places in the state and nation whose economies are based on agriculture, is at once rural and urban. For generations, Salinas has been associated with migrant farmworkers from different racial and ethnic groups. This broad-ranging history of "the Salad Bowl of the World" tells a complex story of community-building in a multiracial, multiethnic city where diversity has been both a cornerstone of civic identity and, from the perspective of primarily white landowners and pragmatic agricultural industrialists, essential for maintaining the local workforce. Carol Lynn McKibben draws on extensive original research, including oral histories and never-before-seen archives of local business groups, tracing Salinas's ever-changing demographics and the challenges and triumphs of Chinese, Japanese, Filipino, and Mexican immigrants, as well as Depression-era Dust Bowl migrants and white ethnic Europeans. McKibben takes us from Salinas's nineteenth-century beginnings as the economic engine of California's Central Coast up through the disproportionate impact of Covid-19 on communities of color today, especially farmworkers who already live on the margins. Throughout the century-plus of Salinas history that McKibben explores, she shows how the political and economic stability of Salinas rested on the ability of nonwhite minorities to achieve a measure of middle-class success and inclusion in the cultural life of the city, without overturning a system based in white supremacy. This timely book deepens our understanding of race relations, economic development, and the impact of changing demographics on regional politics in urban California and in the United States as a whole.

Saints and Somalis Popular Islam in a Clan-Based Society
Saints and Somalis: Popular Islam in a Clan-Based Society By I. M. Lewis
1998 | 174 Pages | ISBN: 1569021031 | PDF | 23 MB
This collection of essays, based on first-hand anthropological field research spanning many years, brings together in a single volume the author's collected material on characteristics of popular Islam amongst the Somali of the Horn of Africa. The tension between mystically mediated views of man's relation to God and more ritualistic interpretations of region provides the main focus of this book-Sufism on the one hand, and skeptical criticism of this mystical understanding of Islam on the other. A universal religion here, as elsewhere, Islam has its own local emphasis and special features, and in these investigations of the cult of saints, the reader is introduced to an array of Somali saints and holy men, their reputation for mystical powers, and the pathways to veneration. The repertoire includes clan ancestors, local holy men of outstanding piety, and famous pan-Islamic figures. These essays also look at some popular practices which are at the margins of orthodox religion, such as spirit possession cults associated primarily with women. Lewis' introductory essay to this volume deserves special attention. In it he challenges single strand theories on the cult of saints espoused by some scholars and non scholars, and sets the stage for the presentation of an intricate and integrated picture of Muslim beliefs and practice among the Somali. Rigorous, outspoken, and backing his arguments with reflections based on a lifetime of research and scholarship, Lewis makes a major contribution to understanding the place and role of religion in Somali society.
