The procedures and visual observation conditions presented in this title will enable technicians to perform their tasks more effectively. By knowing how the equipment is designed, built, and how the materials behave over time, they will be better able to execute a maintenance program extending equipment life and reducing unplanned malfunctions. This book's emphasis is on implementing these actions correctly and in a timely basis so that equipment experiences an increase in "life expectancy," reliability, more efficient energy performance, and a reduction in the possibility of future failures and liability. While the main focus is on equipment installed in residential homes, the procedures detailed certainly apply to larger commercial heating equipment as well. FeaturesAddresses troubleshooting and repair actions on residential heating equipment and controls.Detailed procedures cover visual observations and inspection of impending equipment failure as well as necessary preventive maintenance actions.Includes icons throughout with maintenance tips and forensic observations.Presents visual equipment inspection observations as well as step-by-step procedures for preventive maintenance, along with numerous photographs of failed equipment detailing the consequences of inadequate preventive maintenance. An affiliated website (www.certuseheatingsystems.com) contains supporting video footage of demonstrations of failed equipment and proper/improper maintenance procedures. Wonhee Anne Joh points toward a new interpretation of the cross as a place of love, where God and humanity come together in a surprising way. Interpreting the cross as performing a double gesture that has a subversive effect, Joh argues that the cross works simultaneously to pay homage to and to menace complex oppressive powers. Utilizing the Korean concept of jeong, Joh constructs a theology that is feminist, political and love-centered, while acknowledging the cross as source of pain and suffering. Joh's innovative vision is a call for political love that is stronger than powers of oppression. ![]() Erik Raymond, "He Is Not Ashamed: The Staggering Love of Christ for His People" English | ISBN: 1433579340 | 2022 | 176 pages | EPUB | 578 KB Why a Holy God Delights to Claim Broken People as His Family ![]() Handbook of Research on Practices and Outcomes in Virtual Worlds and Environments (2vol) By Steve Chi-Yin Yuen (editor), Harrison Hao Yang (editor) 2011 | 840 Pages | ISBN: 1609607627 | PDF | 14 MB Researchers and educators are increasingly interested in how virtual worlds allow users to interact, play, learn, do business, share, and collaborate in an online environment. Supplements) By Albert I Baumgarten (editor), Hanan Eshel (editor), Ranon Katzoff (editor), Shani Tzoref (editor) 2011 | 304 Pages | ISBN: 3525550170 | PDF | 16 MB This volume contains the proceedings of the conference entitled Halakhah in Light of Epigraphy held on 29 May, 2008 under the auspices of the David and Jemima Jeselsohn Center for Epigraphy at Bar-Ilan University. Epigraphic finds, here interpreted broadly to include papyri, scrolls, and the like, have immeasurably enriched our knowledge of the ancient Jewish past while at the same time posing a challenge to modern scholarship: how does one integrate old knowledge, based on previously known sources, with new information? We now recognize that Rabbinic texts are normative: they tell us how their authors believed life should be lived, rather than the details of ordinary, everyday, experience. What weight, then, should be given to traditional halakhic texts in evaluating the contents of newly discovered written remains? And what light can be shed by these new finds, especially those inscriptions and documents that record small moments of ancient Jewish life, upon the long-familiar normative texts? The conference on Halakhah in Light of Epigraphy was intended to generate discussion on these broad issues, as well as to provide a forum for exploration of specific matters of Halakhah reflected in the epigraphic sources. The papers in this volume tend to emphasize the centrality of Halakhah in ancient Judaism. The first section of the volume is devoted to Halakhah in the Dead Sea Scrolls, with contributions by Moshe Benovitz, Vered Noam, Eyal Regev, Lawrence Schiffman, and Aharon Shemesh. These papers examine diversity in halakhic positions, in terms of both exegesis and practice (e.g., festival rituals, dietary laws, and sexual relationships), exploring evidence of halakhic development over the course of the Second Temple period, and halakhic variety among different groups. The second section relates to quotidian documents, and contains Hanan Eshel's survey of the legal documents found in the refuge caves; Steven Fraade's examination of the parnas; Shamma Friedman's analysis of the Jewish bill of divorce; and David Goodblatt's discussion of dating formulae. The final section of the volume examines a variety of epigraphic sources, and includes the following articles: Yonatan Adler on tefillin; Chaim Ben David on synagogue inscriptions; Tal Ilan on burial practices; Ze'ev Safrai and Hannah Safrai on an early Christian text; and Guy Stiebel on food at Masada. |
