Rimbault, "Memoirs of Musick: Now First Printed from the Original MS. and Edited, with Copious Notes" English | 2010 | pages: 168 | ISBN: 1108014836 | PDF | 10,9 mb Roger North (1651?-1734) was a successful lawyer and skilled amateur musician who became Attorney General to James II. After the 1688 Revolution he retired from public life and devoted his time to writing on a wide range of topics. Memoirs of Musick originally formed the final section of North's 1728 treatise on music theory, The Musicall Grammarian. It covers aspects of music history (or 'historico-critcall scrapps' as North calls them) from Ancient Greece to Corelli, and includes a substantial account of John Jenkins, who taught North the viol. Charles Burney quoted from the Memoirs in his General History of Music (1776-1789), but this 1846 edition by the musicologist Edward Rimbault was the first time they appeared in print. The book includes an introduction on the manuscript of the Memoirs (now in Hereford Cathedral Library), a short biography of North and extensive explanatory notes to the text. ![]() Mechanical Behavior and Damage Fracture Mechanism of Deep Rocks by Sheng-Qi Yang English | PDF | 2022 | 514 Pages | ISBN : 9811677387 | 57.7 MB This book presents mainly experimental studies on the mechanical behavior and damage fracture mechanism of deep rocks including sandstone, marble, mudstone and granite, combining with several advanced technologies of X-ray micro-CT and AE monitoring. ![]() Allan Franklin, "Measuring Nothing, Repeatedly: Null Experiments in Physics " English | ISBN: 1643277391 | 2019 | 186 pages | PDF | 24 MB There have been many recent discussions of the 'replication crisis' in psychology and other social sciences. ![]() Mathematics for Ladies: Poems on Women in Science by Jessy Randall English | September 13, 2022 | ISBN: 1913380483 | True EPUB | 128 pages | 1.9 MB Poems about historical women in STEM fields. ![]() Mathematical and Computational Studies on Progress, Prognosis, Prevention and Panacea of Breast Cancer by Suhrit Dey, Charlie Dey English | EPUB | 2022 | 377 Pages | ISBN : 981166076X | 78.5 MB This book's aim is to study the mathematical and computational models to analyze the progress, prognosis, prevention, and panacea of breast cancer. The book discusses application of Markov chains and transient mappings, Charlie-Simpson numerical algorithm, models represented by nonlinear reaction-diffusion-type partial differential equations, and related techniques. The book also attempts to design mathematical model of targeted strategic treatments by using Skilled Killer Drugs (SKD1 and SKD2) to suggest the improvisation of future cancer treatments. Both graduate students and researchers of computational biology and oncologists will benefit by studying this book. Researchers of cancer studies and biological sciences will also find this work helpful. ![]() Mathematical Vistas: From a Room with Many Windows (Instructor's Solution Manual) (Solutions) By Peter Hilton, Derek Holton, Jean Pedersen 2002 | 49 Pages | ISBN: 0387950648 | PDF | 2 MB official instructor's manual for "Mathematical Vistas: From a Room with Many Windows" (2002), obtained right through Springer's website.the manual is rather short (49 pages), and it consists mostly of scanned pages -- nevertheless, it make for an enjoyable read. ![]() John C. Cox, "Marketing Sovereign Promises: Monopoly Brokerage and the Growth of the English State " English | ISBN: 1316506096 | 2016 | 232 pages | PDF | 708 KB How did England, once a minor regional power, become a global hegemon between 1689 and 1815? Why, over the same period, did she become the world's first industrial nation? Gary W. Cox addresses these questions in Marketing Sovereign Promises. The book examines two central issues: the origins of the great taxing power of the modern state and how that power is made compatible with economic growth. Part I considers England's rise after the revolution of 1689, highlighting the establishment of annual budgets with shutdown reversions. This core reform effected a great increase in per capita tax extraction. Part II investigates the regional and global spread of British budgeting ideas. Cox argues that states grew only if they addressed a central credibility problem afflicting the Ancien Régime - that rulers were legally entitled to spend public revenue however they deemed fit. ![]() Jim Cassidy, "Maritime Prehistory of Northeast Asia: With a Foreword by Dr. William W.
