UBUNTU I Am Because We Are
Mr. John Koelsch, "UBUNTU: I Am Because We Are"
English | ISBN: 0989603733 | 2019 | 178 pages | EPUB | 2 MB
UBUNTU: I Am Because We Are sets forth a peaceful approach to working together as a nation to address the issues of corruption in our government, and to get the United States back on the path to governing by the consent of the governed. Our economy has been built on the scaffolding of debt. We're facing crumbling infrastructure. We're plagued by censorship; the indiscriminate use of lethal force by police; political paralysis and stagnation and the capture of power by a tiny, corrupt clique. We're seeing an epidemic of suicides. Random nihilistic mass shootings in schools, universities, workplaces, malls, concert venues and movie theaters and on and on. These issues are viewed as caused by individuals who may be replaced and problem solved. Not so! Americans, especially those leading our country need to remain committed to all that we hold sacred, namely, our right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. UBUNTU: I Am Because We Are presents a case for doing all we can to responsibly and peacefully inhabit the world we live in while making it safer and more prosperous for all.

U.S.-Vatican Relations, 1975-1980 A Diplomatic Study
P. Peter Sarros, "U.S.-Vatican Relations, 1975-1980: A Diplomatic Study "
English | ISBN: 0268106819 | 2019 | 452 pages | EPUB | 2 MB
This book explores the bilateral relations between the United States and the Vatican from 1975 to 1980, a turbulent period that had two presidents, three presidential envoys, and three popes. This previously untold story shows how the United States and the Vatican worked quietly together behind the scenes to influence the international response to major issues of the day. Peter Sarros examines the Iran hostage crisis, the tensions of the Cold War, the Helsinki process, and the Beagle Channel dispute, among other issues. These interactions produced a tacit alliance in the foreign policies of the United States and the Vatican even before the establishment of full diplomatic relations. This unique book is based largely on official documents from the archives of the Office of the U.S. Special Envoy of the United States to the Vatican, supplemented by Sarros's contemporaneous diaries, notes, and other unpublished sources.

Trust, Politics and Revolution A European History
Francesca Granelli, "Trust, Politics and Revolution: A European History"
English | ISBN: 1788314727 | 2019 | 336 pages | EPUB | 2 MB
Tracing the relationships and networks of trust in Western European revolutionary situations from the Ancient Greeks to the French Revolution and beyond, Francesca Granelli here shows the essential role of trust in both revolution and government, arguing that without trust, both governments and revolutionary movements are liable to fail. The first study to combine the important of trust and the significance of revolution, this book offers a new lens through which to interpret revolution, in an essential work book for all scholars of political science and historians of revolution.

Trends in Teaching Experimentation in the Life Sciences Putting Research into Practice to Drive Institutional Change
Trends in Teaching Experimentation in the Life Sciences: Putting Research into Practice to Drive Institutional Change by Nancy J. Pelaez
English | PDF | 2022 | 572 Pages | ISBN : 3030985911 | 10.6 MB
This book is a guide for educators on how to develop and evaluate evidence-based strategies for teaching biological experimentation to thereby improve existing and develop new curricula. It unveils the flawed assumptions made at the classroom, department, and institutional level about what students are learning and what help they might need to develop competence in biological experimentation.

Trail of Hope The Anders Army, An Odyssey Across Three Continents
Trail of Hope: The Anders Army, An Odyssey Across Three Continents by Norman Davies
English | November 24, 2015 | ISBN: 147281603X | True PDF | 600 pages | 406 MB
Following the conquest of Poland by Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union in 1939, hundreds of thousands of Polish families were torn from their homes and sent eastwards to the arctic wastes of Siberia. Prisoners of war, refugees, those regarded as 'social criminals' by Stalin's regime, and those rounded up by sheer chance were all sent 'to see the Great White Bear'. However, with Hitler's invasion of the Soviet Union in Operation Barbarossa just two years later, Russia and the Allied powers found themselves on the same side once more. Turning to those that it had previously deemed 'undesirable', Russia sought to raise a Polish army from the men, women and children that it had imprisoned within its labour camps.

Toroidal Order in Magnetic Metamaterials
Toroidal Order in Magnetic Metamaterials by Jannis Lehmann
English | PDF | 2022 | 185 Pages | ISBN : 3030854949 | 7.9 MB
The scope of this work is to provide an extensive experimental investigation of ferrotoroidicity, the most recently established type of ferroic order that is based on the uniform unit-cell-sized alignment of magnetic whirls. This is achieved by transferring basic spin configurations pertinent for the emergence of toroidal order to mesoscopic length scales. An engineering of and access to the system's magnetic degrees of freedom is made possible by using nanomagnetic arrays as model systems. The work reveals microscopic and macroscopic aspects of toroidally ordered matter beyond the reach of natural materials.

Topology Optimization in Structural and Continuum Mechanics
Topology Optimization in Structural and Continuum Mechanics By George I. N. Rozvany (auth.), George I. N. Rozvany, Tomasz Lewiński (eds.)
2014 | 471 Pages | ISBN: 3709116422 | PDF | 13 MB
The book covers new developments in structural topology optimization. Basic features and limitations of Michell's truss theory, its extension to a broader class of support conditions, generalizations of truss topology optimization, and Michell continua are reviewed. For elastic bodies, the layout problems in linear elasticity are discussed and the method of relaxation by homogenization is outlined. The classical problem of free material design is shown to be reducible to a locking material problem, even in the multiload case. For structures subjected to dynamic loads, it is explained how they can be designed so that the structural eigenfrequencies of vibration are as far away as possible from a prescribed external excitation frequency (or a band of excitation frequencies) in order to avoid resonance phenomena with high vibration and noise levels. For diffusive and convective transport processes and multiphysics problems, applications of the density method are discussed. In order to take uncertainty in material parameters, geometry, and operating conditions into account, techniques of reliability-based design optimization are introduced and reviewed for their applicability to topology optimization.
