Additionally, we must know how we should weigh our interests at different times--past, present, and future. Dale Dorsey argues that a theory of prudence is needed: a theory of how we ought to act when we are acting for ourselves. A Theory of Prudence provides a comprehensive account of prudence, including the metaethics of prudential value, the nature of the personal good, the reasons of prudence, and the structure of prudential normativity over time. ![]() Free Download A Practical Guide to Generative AI Using Amazon Bedrock: Building, Deploying, and Securing Generative AI Applications English | 2025 | ASIN : B0DWF8X55R | 499 Pages | PDF EPUB | 22 MB ![]() Free Download A Parent's Guide to Starting Psychiatric Medications for Kids by Alexander Kolevzon;Pilar Trelles;Robert Jaffe;, Alan Da Costa Gomes English | 2025 | ISBN: 9798893960457 | 160 pages | True EPUB | 8.1 MB ![]() Free Download A Murder for Miss Hortense: A Mystery by Mel Pennant English | June 10, 2025 | ISBN: 0593701623 | True EPUB | 352 pages | 3.6 MB Retired nurse, avid gardener, and renowned cake maker Miss Hortense has lived in Bigglesweigh, a quiet suburb of Birmingham, England, since she emigrated from Jamaica in 1960. A career in nursing has also left her afraid of nobody, whether an interfering priest or a local drug dealer, and she's an expert in deciphering other people's secrets with just a glance. ![]() Free Download Kristin Swenson, "A Most Peculiar Book: The Inherent Strangeness of the Bible" English | ISBN: 0190651733 | 2021 | 288 pages | PDF | 3 MB The Bible, we are constantly reminded, is the best-selling book of all time. It is read with intense devotion by hundreds of millions of people, stands as authoritative for Judaism and Christianity, and informs and affects the politics and lives of the religious and non-religious around the world. But how well do we really know it? The Bible is so familiar, so ubiquitous that we have begun to take our knowledge of it for granted. The Bible many of us think we know is a pale imitation of the real thing. ![]() Free Download John Allison, "A Most Canadian Odyssey: Education Diplomacy and Federalism, 1844-1984" English | 2016 | ISBN: 0995340625 | EPUB | pages: 232 | 0.9 mb This book was first published as a peer-reviewed monograph by Althouse Press at Western University in London, Canada. Now, the original manuscript has been reprinted for worldwide distribution. Drawing on historical research, John Allison documents the history and development of Educational Diplomacy in Canada. In setting the stage, he looks at its early development via the voyages of Egerton Ryerson, the importance of education at Confederation, and developments in the early twentieth century leading up to the 1960s. The principal focus of the book, however, takes the reader through the 1960s, the rise of the Council of Ministers of Education, Canada (CMEC), the activities of Paul Gérin-Lajoie to extend Quebec's jurisdiction in this area, and the federal response. With the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Country Education Review in 1975-1976, Canada faced new challenges in this field. In his examination of the latter part of the 1970s, Allison analyzes the ongoing debates and discussions concerning who oversaw education diplomacy: Ottawa and the Department of Foreign Affairs (now Global Affairs Canada) or the provinces and CMEC. In the early 1980s, a Memorandum of Understanding between the provinces (as represented by CMEC) and the federal government was signed. Rather than addressing it in a dynamic fashion, this had the effect of mummifying the question. Canadian education diplomacy is a field in which all governments could do far better. With the history of this question in hand, leaders, governments, and Canadian educators can more effectively look anew at this issue and search for innovative and better approaches to Canadian-style education diplomacy. ![]() Free Download Becky Taylor, "A Minority and the State: Travellers in Britain in the Twentieth Century" English | 2008 | ISBN: 071907567X, 0719091268 | EPUB | pages: 240 | 0.5 mb This book is a much needed history of Britain's travelling communities in the twentieth century, drawing together detailed archival research at a local and national level to explore the impact of state and legislative developments on Travellers, as well as their experience of missions, education, war and welfare. It also covers legal developments affecting Travellers and crucially argues that their history must not be dealt with in isolation but as part of a wider history of British minorities. It will be of interest to scholars and students concerned with minority groups, the welfare state and the expansion of government, as well as general readers and practitioners working with Travellers. ![]() Free Download Charles H. In Mexico, the latifundio, an estate usually composed of two or more haciendas, dominated the social and economic structure of the country for four hundred years. A Mexican Family Empire is a careful examination of the largest latifundio ever to have existed, not only in Mexico but also in all of Latin America-the latifundio of the Sánchez Navarros. ![]() Free Download A Little Book of Hummingbirds (Little Book of Natural Wonders) by Tara Austen Weaver English | March 26, 2024 | ISBN: 1632174987, 9781632176400 | True EPUB | 144 pages | 61.1 MB This bestselling journey into the world of the hummingbird is a treasure and a gift for birdwatchers, gardeners, and anyone who loves these amazing little creatures. ![]() Free Download A Jesuit's Guide to the Stars by Guy J Consolmagno; English | 2025 | ISBN: 0829455736 | 241 pages | True PDF | 4.41 MB |
