This book reviews a current knowledge of the structures and functions of collagenases and the roles they play in development, tumor metastasis, and tissue remodeling during wound healing. This review comes at a time when new collagenases are being discovered, such as collagenases, rather than all matrix metalloproteinases so that a more thorough examination of the function of this crucial set of enzymes in a variety of systems can be achieved. Because of the great deal of work that has gone into understanding this group of enzymes, the findings in this area may also serve as useful paradigms for work in related areas. ![]() Cliffs notes planning your retirement By G. For instance, look at the first table in Chapter 34 through iPhone kindle edition. Can't read the print. When you zoom in, it becomes a blur. Almost all the tables in this book are like that. Also the Pinyin-English appendix reference does not hyper-link to any herb reference like most other kindle reference books. This one is just black and white text. It looks like someone just scanned this book in real fast and sold it as a kindle book. Low usability, low readability. The text formatting in the rest of the book is pretty poor. Every kindle book I've bought so far has better quality than this, even a $3.19 kindle book. I gave it 2 stars because the book looks like it has good material, if one can read it. :) ![]() Janet Evans, "Challenging and Controversial Picturebooks: Creative and critical responses to visual texts" English | ISBN: 1138797774 | 2015 | 340 pages | EPUB | 15 MB It is often assumed that picturebooks are for very young readers because of their emphasis on the illustrations and their scarcity of text; however, there are increasing numbers of picturebooks where the age of the implied reader is questionable. These are picturebooks whose controversial subject matter and unconventional, often unsettling style of illustration challenge the reader, pushing them to question and probe deeper to understand what the book is about. In addition to the book challenging the reader, the reader often challenges the book in an attempt to understand what is being said. ![]() Biology and Chemistry of Jerusalem Artichoke: Helianthus tuberosus L. By Stanley J. Kays, Stephen F. Nottingham 2007 | 498 Pages | ISBN: 1420044958 | PDF | 9 MB A unique plant on many levels, the distinctive properties of the Jerusalem artichoke, or Helianthus tuberosus L., present novel answers to some of today's most pressing problems. The potential of Jerusalem artichoke as a source for inulin, a fructose polymer that may provide dietary health benefits for obesity, diabetes, and several other health issues and the possible use of the crop for biofuels are drawing tremendous recent interest. With its ready cultivation and minimal pest and disease problems, Jerusalem artichoke is an underutilized resource that possesses the potential to meet major health and energy challenges. A comprehensive, up-to-date reference, Biology and Chemistry of Jerusalem Artichoke presents the unique biological and chemical properties that distinguish it from other crops. Citing a diverse cross-section of references, it reviews the history, classification, morphology, and anatomy of the plant. It details inulin chemistry addressing properties and structure, extraction, and modification using microbes, enzymes, and a wide range of chemical processes. The book examines the use of Jerusalem artichokes as a biofuel and the role of inulin derived from the crop in combating obesity and diabetes, as well as promoting bone, blood, bowel, and immune health. A comprehensive chapter addresses genetic resources, breeding, breeding methods, hybridization, and the heritability of important traits. The book details developmental biology in terms of maximizing yield and determining resource allocation as well as controlling pests and disease. It concludes with practical information on agronomic methods, storage, the economics of crop production, and future prospects for utilization. Gathering a wealth of information into a single volume and drawing on the authors' 25 years of research, Biology and Chemistry of Jerusalem Artichoke provides the most comprehensive resource to date on this extremely useful crop. ![]() Paul Grefen, "Beyond E-Business: Towards networked structures" English | ISBN: 1138801771 | 2015 | 310 pages | EPUB, MOBI | 5 MB + 6 MB In Beyond E-Business: Towards Networked Structures Paul Grefen returns with his tried and tested BOAT framework for e-business, now fully expanded and updated with the very latest overview of digitally connected business; from business models, organization structures and architecture, to information technology. ![]() Berkshire encyclopedia of world sport By David Levinson, David Levinson; Karen Christensen 2005 | 477 Pages | ISBN: 0974309117 | PDF | 11 MB The "Berkshire Encyclopedia of World Sport" tackles the whole world of sport, from major professional sports and sprting events to community and youth sports. My students didn't have to take the TOEFL, so I thought I would use the exercises for class. However, they are a little scattered and the answer key for each lesson in the back isn't necessarily easy to locate. I am able to gleen some extra exercises for class once in awhile, but I really wanted to use it as sort of a workbook for them to practice, but given that it isn't user friendly, I had to abandon that idea. ![]() Paul Davies, "Architectural History Retold" English | ISBN: 1138799483 | 2015 | 204 pages | EPUB, PDF | 4 MB + 3 MB How much do you know about Greek architecture?
