Doch der Innere Emigrant Lützeler meldete sich weiterhin unverdrossen zu Wort und wirkte, so lange es irgend ging, in seinen Veröffentlichungen der Depravierung des Menschenbildes durch den Nationalsozialismus entgegen.Diese Geschehenszusammenhänge werden hier erstmals unter Einbeziehung unveröffentlichter Dokumente aus zahlreichen Archiven rekonstruiert. Die dabei leitende Frage nach dem Widerstandspotential deutscher Intellektueller zwischen 1933 und 1945 wird derzeit in mehreren geisteswissenschaftlichen Disziplinen kontrovers diskutiert.
