The key in each case is that they perform feature which makes the units comparable the same function in terms of the kinds of resource they use and the types of output they produce. For example all bank branches to be compared would typically use staff and capital assets to effect income generating activities such as advancing loans, selling financial products and carrying out banking transactions on behalf of their clients. The efficiencies assessed in this context by DEA are intended to reflect the scope for resource conservation at the unit being assessed without detriment to its outputs, or alternatively, the scope for output augmentation without additional resources. The efficiencies assessed are comparative or relative because they reflect scope for resource conservation or output augmentation at one unit relative to other comparable benchmark units rather than in some absolute sense. We resort to relative rather than absolute efficiencies because in most practical contexts we lack sufficient information to derive the superior measures of absolute efficiency. DEA was initiated by Charnes Cooper and Rhodes in 1978 in their seminal paper Chames et al. (1978). The paper operationalised and extended by means of linear programming production economics concepts of empirical efficiency put forth some twenty years earlier by Farrell (1957). ![]() Free Download Stephen Sinclair, "Introduction to Social Policy Analysis: Illuminating Welfare" English | ISBN: 1447313917 | 2016 | 208 pages | PDF | 4 MB In this distinctive introduction Stephen Sinclair illuminates the subject of Social Policy by showing readers how Social Policy analysts think about welfare issues and policies. ![]() Free Download Introduction to Probability: Multivariate Models and Applications by Narayanaswamy Balakrishnan, Markos V. This book aims to provide the reader with insightful perspectives about competence in different situations and contexts. It presents a more enlightened view of human competence by opening up an international dialogue about the meaning and interpretation of competence in the workplace, and the impact of learning environments on workplace policy and practice. Five major premises which provide a basis for how we interpret, experience, and teach competence in the workplace are put forward: notions of worker competence, and the persuasiveness of informal workplace training; developing competence as an individual, and the inherent relationship between the worker and work, and the lifeworld; learning which develops higher level competences based on a more holistic conception of competence; characteristics of learning environments as integral components of learning at work; learning environments construed as theoretical and methodological problems in terms of their impact on the acquisition of competence. ![]() Free Download Intermediate Vulkan Programming- Building 3D Graphics (Vulcan Fundamentals) by Kameron Hussain, Frahaan Hussain English | August 3, 2024 | ISBN: 8224701972 | 178 pages | EPUB | 0.22 Mb Dive deep into the world of 3D graphics with "Intermediate Vulkan Programming: Building 3D Graphics, 2nd Edition."
