Der Verlag Vieweg schlug mir indes ein wesentlich komplexeres Projekt mit der Herausgabe des Handbuches Elektrische Energietechnik vor. Da in diesem Handbuch die Kapitel über Elektrische Maschinen und Antriebssysteme stark gekürzt werden mußten, gab mir der Verlag Vieweg ein paar Jahre später die Gelegenheit, ein zweites Buch, das Ihnen jetzt vorliegt, zu schreiben. Als besonderes Glück empfinde ich die Tatsache, daß ich die Mitarbeit von Prof. Dr.vlng., Dr. h.c.
