Historische Philosophie Beschreibung Einer Denkart
Free Download Kurt Flasch, "Historische Philosophie: Beschreibung Einer Denkart"
Deutsch | 2021 | ISBN: 3465045661 | PDF | pages: 374 | 9.0 mb
In this book Kurt Flasch describes and substantiates his way of thinking and working. He calls it "historical philosophy" and shows how it undercuts the separation of philosophical systematics and philosophical history, thus posing the problem of "historicism" in a new way. Flasch critically examines basic concepts such as "epoch," "tradition," and "continuity" and argues against dehistoricizing modes of appropriation of the past that ignore the time gap or reduce it to a mere external circumstance. He thus gains new insights into the relationship between the Middle Ages, the Renaissance and the Reformation.

Histories of Scientific Observation
Free Download Histories of Scientific Observation edited by Lorraine Daston, Elizabeth Lunbeck
English | February 1, 2011 | ISBN: 0226136779, 0226136787 | True PDF | 480 pages | 32.6 MB
Observation is the most pervasive and fundamental practice of all the modern sciences, both natural and human. Its instruments include not only the naked senses but also tools such as the telescope and microscope, the questionnaire, the photographic plate, the notebook, the glassed-in beehive, and myriad other ingenious inventions designed to make the invisible visible, the evanescent permanent, the abstract concrete. Yet observation has almost never been considered as an object of historical inquiry in itself. This wide-ranging collection offers the first examination of the history of scientific observation in its own right, as both epistemic category and scientific practice.

Historical Dictionary of the United States (Historical Dictionaries of the Americas)
Free Download Historical Dictionary of the United States (Historical Dictionaries of the Americas) by Kenneth J. Panton
English | September 15, 2022 | ISBN: 153812419X | 782 pages | MOBI | 2.25 Mb
The evolution of the United States from a late-18th century coalition of rebel British colonies to a 21st century global superpower was shaped by several forces. As the nation expanded its boundaries after the Treaty of Paris confirmed independence from Great Britain in 1783, it acquired a rich variety of resources - coal, fertile soils, forests, iron ore, oil, precious metals, space, and varied climates as well as extensive tracts of territory. Technological innovations, such as the cotton gin and steam power, enabled entrepreneurs to exploit those resources and create wealth. Federal and state legislators provided environments in which the economy could flourish, and military strategists kept the country safe from external attack. Diplomats negotiated commercial agreements with foreign governments and cultivated multinational alliances that strengthened freedoms. Through its focus on the people and places that shaped the country's economic and political development and its detailed accounts of the processes that enabled the U.S. to expand across the continent

Hirten in der nicht–bukolischen Dichtung des Hellenismus
Free Download Hans Bernsdorff, "Hirten in der nicht-bukolischen Dichtung des Hellenismus"
Deutsch | 2001 | ISBN: 3515078223 | PDF | pages: 222 | 10.4 mb

Hip Hop Ukraine Music, Race, and African Migration
Free Download Adriana N. Helbig, "Hip Hop Ukraine: Music, Race, and African Migration "
English | ISBN: 0253012007 | 2014 | 240 pages | AZW3 | 1222 KB
In Hip Hop Ukraine, we enter a world of urban music and dance competitions, hip hop parties, and recording studio culture to explore unique sites of interracial encounters among African students, African immigrants, and local populations in eastern Ukraine. Adriana N. Helbig combines ethnographic research with music, media, and policy analysis to examine how localized forms of hip hop create social and political spaces where an interracial youth culture can speak to issues of human rights and racial equality. She maps the complex trajectories of musical influence―African, Soviet, American―to show how hip hop has become a site of social protest in post-socialist society and a vehicle for social change.
