So verdreifacht China, das stark auf E-Mobilität setzt, aktuell die Zahl der Atomkraftwerke auf 100. Mit der Elektromobilität hält der Trend zu noch größeren Pkw an. E-Autos sind, wie die jüngere Entwicklung, die konkreten Investitionen von Tesla, BMW, Daimler, VW, Porsche, BYD, Geely und die neu entwickelten Elektroauto-Modelle zeigen, inzwischen überwiegend keine schnuckeligen, pfiffigen Stadtflitzer. Im Gegenteil. Im Durchschnitt sind sie nochmals 20 bis 30 Prozent schwerer als normale Mittelklasse-Pkw. Dies ist mit höheren Belastungen für die Infrastruktur (Straßenbeläge, Parkhäuser usw.) verbunden. Elektromobilität fördert die soziale Ausgrenzung bei der Mobilität. Elektroautos sind deutlich teurer als herkömmliche Pkw. Dies wird nur kurzzeitig durch massive staatliche Subventionen relativiert. Gleichzeitig wird eine Ausweitung der Elektromobilität in den Städten zur Ausdünnung des öffentlichen Verkehrs beitragen. Die Ideologie der Elektromobilität ist vielfach elitär und technikgläubig bzw. technik-fetischisierend.
