Als sogenannte ,Robo-Advisors' übernehmen immer mehr digitalen Lösungen die klassische Anlageberatung. Immer mehr algorithmengesteuerte Fonds ersetzen den Menschen als Vermögensverwalter. Heute werden 93% des weltweiten Handelsvolumens an den Finanzbörsen von Algortihmen umgesetzt. Das Ziel dieser wissenschaftlichen Arbeit ist es, die Anwendbarkeit von KI im Börsen- handel bzw. in Investmentprozessen aufzuzeigen. Die primäre Forschungsfrage richtet sich auf die Bewertung des Mehrwerts beim Einsatz von KI im Börsenhandel: Kann die Anwendung von KI in Investmentprozessen dazu beitragen eine Überrendite zu erzielen? Als sekundäre Fragestellung wird beantwortet, welche der untersuchten KI Techniken und Anwendungen im Börsenhandel das größte Potenzial besitzen. Im Hauptteil dieser wissenschaftlichen Arbeit werden zunächst die Computerisierung des Börsenhandels, der Stand der Technik, Datenquellen sowie alternative Daten erläutert. Anschließend werden Anwendungsmöglichkeiten von KI im Börsenhandel untersucht: Algorithmic Trading, High-Frequency-Trading, Quantitative Trading, Robo-Advisors, Robo-Trading, Sentiment Analyse und der erste KI gesteuerte Aktienfond wird untersucht. Der aktuelle Forschungsstand werden relevante Studien aus den Bereichen der Finanzportfoliooptimierung, Vorhersage zukünftiger Marktpreise/ Trends, Sentiment-Analyse sowie des Einsatzes von kombinierten Wissenschaften und KI- Methoden aufgeführt. Im Abschluss des Hauptteils findet eine zusammenfassende Bewertung statt. Die vorausschauenden Worte von Bill Gates, „Banking is necessary, banks are not", aus dem Jahr 1994, bewahrheiten sich allmählich. Das klassische Bankengeschäft wird durch Fintech-Angebote sukzessiv verdrängt. Banken und Investmentunternehmen werden durch den Digitalen-Tornado dazu gedrängt, Fintech-Unternehmungen zu werden. KI, speziell ML, ist die entscheidende Schlüsseltechnologie. Ihr Einsatz ist nicht nur ein Wettbewerbsvorteil, sondern wird in Zukunft für die Wettbewerbsfähigkeit essenziell sein. Die Forschung zum Einsatz von KI im Börsenhandel bzw. in Investmentprozessen befindet sich noch in einem relativ frühen Stadium. Die Gesellschaft lebt derzeit mit einer ,schwachen KI' zusammen. Angesichts der raschen Evolution seit den 2015er Jahren ist davon auszugehen, dass ein Durchbruch bei der Entwicklung eines Robo-Trading-Bots in den kommenden fünf Jahren durchaus denkbar ist. Die Grundlage für einen erfolgreich umgesetzten Trading-Bot wird die Open-Source-Community, voraussichtlich innerhalb des Python-Ökosystems, liefern. Eine Möglichkeit besteht in der Entwicklung einer Ensembler-Strategie mittels Deep Reinforcement Learning, dessen Anwendung und Entwicklung in der Cloud stattfindet. Es bleibt abzuwarten, ob Diktator Wladimir Putin recht behält, wenn er sagt: „Wer in diesem Bereich [KI] die Führung übernimmt, wird Herrscher der Welt".
