What can be said about vellum? So, After the vellum was implemented in Houdini, it has become a much more powerful and self-contained program, as it expanded the list of Houdini's capabilities to perform many types of simulations, namely cloth, hair, soft-body, and grains.
Of course, before that, it was also possible to perform such kinds of tasks, but vellum has revolutionized these areas, and introduced a new approach to solving such tasks, and brought enormous potential.
Well, now let's talk about this lesson.
Firstly, I want to point out that this tutorial is completely based on documentation.
So, Throughout this lesson, We will fully reveal all the properties of the vellum cloth as it is done in the documentation, without any exception.

This is a very complex topic, and way too big for only one lesson, so this class is going to act as an introduction to the topic covering the basics of clothing and drapery construction and gesture.  We'll have a closer look as to how folds are created and how they relate to the figure, as well as cover the different types of folds we are going to see. As always, we'll start with a lecture, followed by some demonstrations and at the end there will be a 20 minute timed drawing exercise session for you to complete. This can be a very tricky and frustrating area for beginner artists, so be patient with yourself in this more advanced class, and try to have fun with it!
