Altium Designer Agile is an enterprise-oriented platform for electronics product and system development, designed to support agile engineering organizations that need structured control, connectivity, and compliance across complex development workflows. It combines capabilities for PCB design, harness development, component and supplier data management, and collaborative engineering processes.
The platform supports engineering teams working across multiple disciplines by connecting design activities with managed component information, manufacturing data, rules, and project workflows. Its enterprise-oriented approach is intended to provide governance and traceability while maintaining flexibility for day-to-day design work.
Altium Designer Agile - Released: 9 September 2026, Version 26.10.1 (build 26)

Software Overview

Altium Designer Agile provides an integrated environment for electronics development, with features covering PCB design rules, harness diagrams, component data management, supplier information, schematic editing, manufacturing outputs, and design verification. The 26.10.1 release introduces Rule Sets for organizing reusable design rules and adds several workflow improvements across PCB, harness, and data management functions.
The release also includes numerous fixes covering schematic editing, PCB operations, wire bonding exports, platform behavior, data management, and import/export workflows. Several advanced settings and beta features are also documented for users who need access to specific design and 3D-processing capabilities.

Key Features

Why Choose Altium Designer Agile

Altium Designer Agile is designed for organizations managing electronics development across structured engineering and enterprise workflows. Its combination of PCB design, harness design, component management, supplier data, and verification features allows related design information to be handled within a connected development environment.
The platform is also suited to teams that need reusable design rules and controlled component information. Features such as Rule Sets, managed component parameters, supplier-data synchronization, and workspace connectivity provide mechanisms for maintaining consistent engineering data across projects.

What's New

PCB Design Improvements
Design Rule Sets (Open Beta)
The PCB Rules and Constraints Editor now introduces Rule Sets, allowing related design rules to be grouped and reused according to requirements such as an interface or manufacturer. Users can create or duplicate Rule Sets, manage their constituent rules, move rules between sets, switch applied sets on or off, and rename or delete sets.
Rule Sets can also be exported and imported. During import, rules can be merged into an existing Rule Set, added with conflict handling, or used to replace the rules in an existing set. The existing global priority system remains in effect, with the highest-priority applicable rule determining the result for a given rule type.
The Design Rule Checker includes a Rule Sets to Check page for configuring force checking of individual Rule Sets during batch DRC. When force checking is enabled, applicable rules from the selected set are additionally checked alongside the normal batch DRC process. Violations identified through this mechanism are marked as Force Checked in the relevant DRC reports and panels.
Harness Design Improvements
Layout Label Follows Bundle Orientation
Harness layout labels can now follow the orientation and path of the bundle to which they are attached. A snapped label can be rotated in 90-degree increments with the Spacebar or adjusted through the Rotation property. Holding Alt during placement allows the label to be positioned independently instead of following the bundle. When the bundle is moved, the position of a snapped label is recalculated accordingly.
Independent Width and Height Adjustment
Cable, shield, and twist objects in harness wiring diagrams can now have their dimensions adjusted independently. A new lock control in the Properties panel determines whether width and height remain linked. The default locked state maintains a 2:1 height-to-width ratio for cables and shields and a 1:1 ratio for twists, while the unlocked state allows independent dimension changes.
Data Management Improvements
Defining Component Name and Description Using Parameters
Parameters can now be used to define the Name and Description of components when creating or editing released components in a connected Workspace. Expressions such as [ParameterName1]_[ParameterName2] can be used when the corresponding parameters and values are available. The capability is supported in both Single Component Editing and Batch Component Editing modes.
Custom Parts Provider Synchronization Enhancements
Custom Parts Provider Synchronization now supports additional Category and Datasheet system parameters as well as custom parameters in Custom Parts Provider Synchronization Configuration documents (*.PrtSync). These parameters can also be presented in the Manufacturer Part Search panel when the EDMS.CustomOffersMerge advanced setting is enabled and the connected Workspace meets the required BOM Portal condition.
Improved Name Field Search
In Single Component Editing mode, searches in the Component editor Name field now begin only after at least two characters have been entered, with interface guidance indicating this requirement.
Public Feature
JSON Web Token for user identification and authentication is now officially Public with the release.
Additional Feature
Open CASCADE 7.9.0 is available as an Open Beta option through the PCB.UseOpenCascade790 advanced setting. When enabled, Altium Designer uses version 7.9.0 of the Open CASCADE library for processing 3D geometry.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Altium Designer Agile?

Altium Designer Agile is an enterprise-oriented platform for electronics product and system development, covering areas such as PCB design, harness development, component management, supplier data, and engineering workflows.

What are Rule Sets in Altium Designer Agile?

Rule Sets allow related PCB design rules to be grouped, managed, reused, and imported or exported as collections. They can also be configured for additional force checking during batch Design Rule Checking.

Can harness dimensions be adjusted independently?

Yes. Cable, shield, and twist objects in harness wiring diagrams can use locked or unlocked Width and Height controls. Unlocking the dimensions allows them to be adjusted independently.

Does Altium Designer Agile support component parameters for names and descriptions?

Yes. Parameters can be used to construct component Name and Description values when the required parameters and values have been defined in the connected Workspace.

What is the Open CASCADE 7.9.0 feature?

Open CASCADE 7.9.0 is available as an Open Beta option through the PCB.UseOpenCascade790 advanced setting and can be used for processing 3D geometry in Altium Designer.
