Description
This course is a beginners guide to parents of teens that play youth or high school sports on how to utilize the sports experience to strengthen mental wellness and combat mental health.  I illuminate the components within the sports experience i.e. self awareness, self management, social awareness, emotional IQ, coping skills, courage to take risks, handling failure, self care, accountability, showing up, togetherness, positive self talk, personal resilience, etc. that teens display in sports to activate and transfer those same principles, beliefs, and disciplines into their personal lives.  The courage and strength sports requires is an untapped confidence and power source that parents can unlock to energize and equip their child to overcome mental challenges, cultivate mental wellness, and make holistic personal development your standard in sports.  At the completion of this course you will understand the teen cultural climate affecting mental health, identify and respond to mental health sensors, learn a different perspective on the sports experience to cultivate holistic personal development, and utilize sports as mental health first aid kit with specific parenting resources and tips for immediate application.  This course is about coming along side parents and empowering you during your child's transitional adolescent years in life, which will include some challenging times.
