Pilla, "Salt and Light: The Secret to Restoring America's Culture" English | ISBN: 1884367119 | 2018 | 136 pages | EPUB | 280 KB In this Farwell Address to the Nation, George Washington stated that religion and morality are two indispensable supports to good government and a peaceful society. Washington referred to them as "great pillars of human happiness." He stated that no one could be called a patriot "who should labor to subvert them." But look around. In all our institutions―educational, governments at all levels, our courts, and the media―such things are criticized. Christians are marginalized. We are called weak, stupid, uneducated, bigoted, intolerant, etc. Christians are told to keep their mouths shut and their opinions to themselves. God has been scrubbed from our schools, our playgrounds, the workplace, the halls of justice, and government councils. As a result, our cities are burning and our kids are dying from drug abuse, suicide, and from violence at the hands of other kids. What will it take to recognize that then you remove God from society, you get a godless society. I wrote the book Salt and Light because I am deeply concerned about the kind of America my grandchildren will grow up in. Will they enjoy the blessings of liberty and the opportunity for prosperity that accompany a society built on God's social order? Or will they live under the oppression and tyranny of a statist government that inevitably and invariably grows from social chaos? We still have a choice. Salt and Light is a practical guide to ensuring the former, thus avoiding the latter. ![]() Free Download Jonathan G Dean, "Salt & Light; The Complete Jesus" English | 2022 | ISBN: 1778250408, 1778250424 | PDF | pages: 263 | 16.7 mb Salt & Light; The Complete Jesus ![]() Free Download Catalina Balmaceda, Michael Comber, "Sallust: The War Against Jugurtha" English | 2008 | ISBN: 0856686387 | PDF | pages: 291 | 2.8 mb The Roman historian C. Sallustius Crispus, better known as Sallust, decided to write about the war against the Numidian king Jugurtha, 'because it was a long and cruel struggle in which fortune swung from side to side; and secondly, because it was then for the first time that a stand was taken against the arrogance of the nobles'. For Sallust, the Jugurthine War clearly revealed the problems of the Republic at that time. The fact that a man such as Jugurtha could rise to power by buying Roman military and civil officials reflected a moral crisis in Roman politics. Sallust's account of the nobles' tactics in conducting the war, the rise of the homo novus , Marius, and the beginnings of Sulla's career are particularly effective at showing how Romans sought individual power and advantages often at the expense of the state. Sallust is determined to illustrate decay, and with a successful choice of words and phrases he will achieve not only a powerful exposition of the nature and propagation of political decline, but also the congruence between the sickly condition of the state and the mores of its citizens. Sallust is the creator of a particular manner of writing history. His style has attracted attention and discussion both in ancient times and nowadays because it shows itself at the same time as archaic and innovatory, abrupt and artistic. The translation of this new edition seeks to be faithful to that characteristic Sallustian style and the commentary aims to be useful not only to specialists, but also to readers who know little or no Latin. The introduction deals with Sallust's life and career as a historian, the Jugurthine war itself, and also with the important Sallustian topic of virtus and the development of the ideology of the 'new man'. ![]() Free Download Salesforce Anti-Patterns: Build resilient Salesforce solutions using expert advice to create robust and efficient programs English | 2025 | ISBN: 1835467849 | 473 Pages | EPUB (True) | 7.3 MB ![]() Free Download Sales and Distribution Management: Decisions, Strategies, and Cases, 7th Edition English | 2024 | ISBN: 9361593994 | 648 pages | EPUB | 3.62 Mb The seventh edition of the book builds on the strengths of the sixth edition - which was aimed toward accomplishing three objectives - ![]() Free Download Frederic Wehrey, "Salafism in the Maghreb: Politics, Piety, and Militancy" English | 2019 | ISBN: 019094241X, 0190942401 | PDF | pages: 241 | 9.8 mb The Arab Maghreb-the long stretch of North Africa that expands from Libya to Mauritania-is a vitally important region that impacts the security and politics of Europe, sub-Saharan Africa, and the broader Middle East. As Middle East scholars Frederic Wehrey and Anouar Boukhars show in Salafism in the Maghreb, it is also home to the conservative, literalist interpretation of Islam known as Salafism, which has emerged as a major social and political force. Through extensive interviews and fieldwork, Wehrey and Boukhars examine the many roles and manifestations of Salafism in the Maghreb, looking at the relationship between Salafism and the Maghreb's ruling regimes, as well as competing Islamist currents, increasingly youthful populations, and communal groups like tribes and ethno-linguistic minorities. They pay particular attention to how seemingly immutable Salafi ideology is often shaped by local contexts and opportunities. Informed by rigorous research, deep empathy, and unparalleled access to Salafi adherents, clerics, politicians, and militants, Salafism in the Maghreb offers a definitive account of this important Islamist current. ![]() Free Download Saints, Angels & Demons: An A-to-Z Guide to the Holy and the Damned by Gary Jansen, Katie Ponder English | October 15, 2024 | ISBN: 0762484853 | 432 pages | MOBI | 34 Mb Saints, Angels, and Demonsis an illustrated compendium of the fascinating lives and meaningful legacies of nearly 400 iconic figures who have influenced history, religion, literature, and art, throughout the centuries and across the world. ![]() Free Download Sage Warrior: Wake to Oneness, Practice Pleasure, Choose Courage, Become Victory (The Revolutionary Love Project) by Valarie Kaur, Keerat Kaur English | September 10, 2024 | ISBN: 0593448448 | 416 pages | PDF | 15 Mb Profound inner wisdom for courageous action-from the author of See No Stranger and founder of the Revolutionary Love Project, a "prophetic voice of our generation" (America Ferrera) ![]() Free Download Safety Professional's Reference and Study Guide English | 2025 | ISBN: 1032836075 | 1000 Pages | PDF EPUB (True) | 179 MB For safety professionals navigating the complexities of safety practices daily, the search for a single-source guide covering diverse topics has been an ongoing quest. From sexual abuse scandals involving high-profile pastors, to decades-long systemic cover-ups of sexual harassment and mistreatment, to harmful theology that has driven women to leave the church and find community elsewhere, it's clear that something is broken. If we want to fix it, it's time we start listening. |
