Free Download Pedro João Uetela, "Higher Education and Decolonization in Africa"
English | ISBN: 3031389727 | 2023 | 251 pages | EPUB | 2 MB
This book investigates current debates shaping Higher Education development as a subsystem and higher education (HE) as a field of study in Africa. It applies meta-analysis, literature review methodologies and the lens of decolonization theories to examine both studies and key reforms characterizing the continent. The book unpacks how these remarkable and unintended transformations of universities that shape Africa can be comprehended by researching national, regional, and continental arrangements of universities and systems in order to see how all these categories either dialogue or intersect.

Free Download Hierarchical Evolutionary-Developmental Theory: Towards a New Theory of Evolution
English | 2025 | ISBN: 3031887220 | 422 Pages | PDF EPUB (True) | 30 MB
This book introduces a new evolutionary model called "Hierarchical Evolutionary-Developmental Theory" or "H-Evo-Devo Theory." This theory proposes that the organism's internal properties reflect entities that are highly integrated in developmental terms that evolve hierarchically. In other words, it attempts to demonstrate that developmental constraints operate at different scales, producing distinct states of morphological stability reflected as subspecies, species, higher taxa, and homologues, all representing units of evolution. In addition, it reintroduces the concept of the "organism" in evolutionary biology, supports a strictly macroevolutionary view, and contemplates alternative evolutionary rates, processes, and mechanisms at different levels: microevolution, macroevolution, megaevolution, and modular-evolution. In short, this book establishes a new synthesis between systematics, morphology, and evolution, suggesting a significant shift in evolutionary thought.

Free Download Benson P Fraser, "Hide and Seek: The Sacred Art of Indirect Communication "
English | ISBN: 1532670591 | 2020 | 308 pages | EPUB | 2 MB
As bearers of the divine image, all of us are storytellers and artists. However, few people today believe in truth that is not empirically knowable or verifiable, the sort of truth often trafficked through direct forms of communication. Drawing on the works of Soren Kierkegaard, Benson P. Fraser challenges this penchant for direct forms of knowledge by introducing the indirect approach, which he argues conveys more than mere knowledge, but the capability to live out what one takes to be true. Dr. Fraser suggests that stories aimed at the heart are powerful instruments for personal and social change because they are not focused directly on the individual listener; rather, they give the individual room or distance to reconsider old meanings or ways of understanding. Indirect communication fosters human transformation by awaking an individual to attend to images or words that carry deep symbolic force and that modify or replace one's present ways of knowing, and ultimately make one capable of embodying what he or she believes. Through an examination of the indirect approach in Kierkegaard, Jesus, C. S. Lewis, and Flannery O'Connor, Fraser makes a strong case for the recovery of indirect strategies for communicating truth in our time.
