A fascinating dive into the heart of 18th-century esoteric thought, this book traces the life and influence of Louis-Claude de Saint-Martin, a major figure in Christian mysticism and the discreet architect of the Rectified Scottish Rite. Known under the pseudonym of the Unknown Philosopher, Saint-Martin had a profound impact on the spiritual evolution of Freemasonry, notably through his collaboration with Jean-Baptiste Willermoz and his reflections on the reintegration of man into his divine condition.
Through his emblematic works, such as Des Erreurs et de la Vérité and Le Nouvel Homme, Saint-Martin sheds light on an intimate initiatory path, where the quest for inner light takes precedence over formal rituals. His legacy still resonates today in Masonic and esoteric circles, notably within the Rectified Scottish Rite.
Discover the story of a man whose thought transcended his era and continues to inspire those who seek to reconcile Christian spirituality and Masonic mysticism. A must-read for all RER enthusiasts and those with a passion for the esoteric.
