Don Troiani's Civil War Uniforms of Union and Confederate Soldiers

Esteemed military historian and artist Don Troiani and military historian and author Ron Field team up to create an appealing book for reenactors, modelers, and all historians with an interest in the Civil War soldier. The 150 figure studies-85 from the North and 65 from the South-detail every aspect of uniform and headgear-coats, trousers, caps and epaulettes, badges, buckles, buttons, and boots, along with the weapons and equipment each soldier carried.
Cavalrymen, infantry, sharpshooters, Zouaves, from captains and commanders to privates, all who wore the blues and the grays and the colorful and captivating reds, greens, yellows, and golds are shown in vivid and accurate detail. Troiani's masterful depictions and Field's documentation are based on impeccable research of firsthand accounts and quartermaster reports and careful attention to surviving artifacts. This new book highlights the soldier and is both a visual treat and an informative resource.
