This book is designed to provide students with an insight into how to tackle the tougher questions presented on the GCSE Mathematics Papers. The questions focus on strategy and technique rather than repetition as would normally be found in an exercise book. The book is divided broadly into five sections (Algebra, Ratio, Number Crunching, Geometry and Probability) with some overlap between topics. The majority of the grade 7 and above questions require skills from several areas of GCSE mathematics. The questions focus on key areas that students frequently require assistance with. These topics include: 1. The use of proportion. 2. Recognising an algebra based question. 3. Selecting appropriate solution strategies. The full solutions are given at the end of the book. It is recommended that the solutions are studied carefully and that students take note of the methods used to solve the problems. There are over 100 questions in the book. Some of them are quite challenging even for the most able GCSE student. This book by itself will cover some, but not all, of the topics encountered on the GCSE syllabus.
