This is not a story of battlefield tactics or a discussion of the grand strategic decisions of World War 2. It is the story of one man and his observations as he trained, fought, liberated, occupied, and survived as a Battalion Commander of Field Artillery, on the western front of the European Theatre. It is a story of logistics, weather, trains, trucks and family. These are the recollections and thoughts of a young man, one of many serving and sacrificing in the name of his country.
