Neuro-Linguistic Programming, or NLP, has been intriguing managers for the last 40 years. It seems to promise so much and, if some practitioners are to be believed, it works almost like magic.
And no: you should not believe in magic!
There are many books by expert practitioners that will promise to teach you about the breadth of NLP. And there are even more books that take a deep dive into a narrow range of techniques. None of these can properly replace a good training course.
What there is not (until now) is a short book that introduces you to the basic ideas. Something you can easily consume in one sitting to give you:
* An overview of what NLP is and is not about
* An understanding of whether deeper study is right for you
That's why I have prepared this eBook. And, I have done so as someone who, 20 years ago, took several NLP training courses and gained NLP Practitioner and NLP Master Practitioner certifications.
But I am not a drinker of Cool Aid! I am, however, a working speaker, trainer, coach, and facilitator. I train and coach professionals, leaders, and managers. So, I know what is useful and what is not. And, as a scientist by early training, I also know how to keep open a skeptical eye.
In 2019, I founded Management Courses to offer free online training curses via a YouTube channel. As I write this, my latest course is... NLP. And, once I'd prepared and edited that course, I knew that some would prefer to read, and others would like a Kindle as a carry-anywhere supplement.
This, then, is a short, low-cost eBook that, I hope, will be a great asset to anyone who needs to understand NLP, Neuro-Linguistic Programming.
