Optical Vortices Fundamentals and applications

This book focuses on the latest advances in the optical vortices field, from fundamentals to applications. The goal of this book is to present the optical vortices to a broad audience. The book begins with the basic knowledge in the field of optical vortices, including the characteristics of optical vortices, generation methods, and orbital angular momentum detection methods. Then, several important types of optical vortices are introduced, including partially coherent vortex beams, vector vortex beams and spatiotemporal optical vortices. Lastly, the applications of optical vortices are introduced systematically, including in optical trapping, optical communications, imaging and metrology.
