This is the completely rewritten, thoroughly revised, and substantially updated edition of Pathophysiology which is still the only book of its kind published in India. Since the release of the first edition, knowledge of pathophysiology of various clinical disorders has expanded to the extent that practically all the chapters had to be rewritten. A prominent change in this edition is that the chapters in the book have been reduced from a total of 52 to 30, eliminating the chapters which dealt with only the physiologic or clinical aspects and had little discussion of pathophysiology. As a result, pathophysiological aspects of disorders have been discussed in greater depth and detail. A large number of figures have been changed and many new figures added to provide better understanding of the text. This edition shall prove to be an ideal handbook for both undergraduate and postgraduate students in clinical medicine, and maintain its due relevance as a text to Bpharm students.
