The techniques and conceptual perspectives on heritage visualization are a subject of an ongoing interdisciplinary debate. By demonstrating scholarly excellence and best technical practice in this area, this volume is concerned with the challenge of providing intellectual transparency and accountability in visualization-based historical research. Addressing a range of cognitive and technological challenges, the authors make a strong case for a wider recognition of three-dimensional visualization as a constructive, intellectual process and valid methodology for historical research and its communication. Intellectual transparency of visualization-based research, the pervading theme of this volume, is addressed from different perspectives reflecting the theory and practice of respective disciplines. The contributors - archaeologists, cultural historians, computer scientists and ICT practitioners - emphasize the importance of reliable tools, in particular documenting the process of interpretation of historical material and hypotheses that arise in the course of research. The discussion of this issue refers to all aspects of the intellectual content of visualization and is centred around the concept of 'paradata'. Paradata document interpretative processes so that a degree of reliability of visualization outcomes can be understood. The disadvantages of not providing this kind of intellectual transparency in the communication of historical content may result in visual products that only convey a small percentage of the knowledge that they embody, thus making research findings not susceptible to peer review and rendering them closed to further discussion. It is argued, therefore, that paradata should be recorded alongside more tangible outcomes of research, preferably as an integral part of virtual models, and sustained beyond the life-span of the technology that underpins visualization. ![]() Free Download Panzer Tracts 19-01 Beute-Panzerkampfwagen By Thomas L. Imrie, "Pancreatic Disease: Protocols and Clinical Research" English | 2010 | pages: 125 | ISBN: 1848821174, 0857292382 | PDF | 2,5 mb Clem Imrie and Colin Johnson This book stems from an unusual meeting held in The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in March 2007. Enthusiastic doctors in the diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic diseases were arranged in small groups to discuss specific unsolved/partially clinical problems and suggest the way forward. In some instances, the recommendations were initial improved longitudinal studies, while in others better double-blind randomized st- ies. The recommendations were then presented on the second day before the total 40 plus participants who added their input. Finally, the mechanics of initiating the proposals were arranged. The editors are most thankful to the authors from the meeting, who have ass- bled the various contributions to this stimulating volume. xi Part I Potential Trials in Acute Pancreatitis Chapter 1 Acute Pancreatitis in Intensive Care John Kinsella, Barry Clements, Euan Dickson, Thierry Dugernier, and Martin Hughes 1.1 Intr oduction Severe acute pancreatitis is associated with the development of the systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS). Hypoxemia is a hallmark of acute pancreatitis and respiratory failure is the most common single organ failure in this disease. In the most severely ill patients mul- organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS) and multi-organ failure (MOF) occur. He spent almost his entire working life in the Spanish city of Badajoz, not far from the border with Portugal and did not travel outside of a small area around that city, covering both sides of the border. The social, political and cultural environment of Badajoz and its environs is crucial for a thorough understanding of his output. This book provides that context in detail, looking at literature and liturgical theatre, the situation of converted Jews and Muslims, the presence of Erasmianism, Lutheranism and Illuminism (Alumbradismo), devotional writing for laypeople and proximity to the Bragança ducal palace in Portugal as a means of explaining this most enigmatic of painters. ![]() Free Download Painting Cats: Curious, mindful & free-spirited watercolors by Terry Runyan English | September 12, 2023 | ISBN: 0711285349 | 144 pages | PDF | 15 Mb In this follow-up to her hit Painting Happiness, Instagram sensation Terry Runyan shows you how to play with watercolour to create quirky cat portraits - and let go of stress. ![]() Free Download Paddling the Columbia: A Guide to all 1200 Miles of our Scenic and Historical River by John Roskelley English | June 12, 2014 | ISBN: 1594857784 | 288 pages | MOBI | 79 Mb * Follow in the wake-literally-of Lewis and Clark! ![]() Free Download Packaging girlhood : rescuing our daughters from marketers' schemes By Lamb, Sharon; Brown, Lyn Mikel 2006 | 336 Pages | ISBN: 0312352506 | EPUB | 1 MB The stereotype-laden message, delivered through clothes, music, books, and TV, is essentially a continuous plea for girls to put their energies into beauty products, shopping, fashion, and boys. This constant marketing, cheapening of relationships, absence of good women role models, and stereotyping and sexualization of girls is something that parents need to first understand before they can take action.Lamb and Brown teach parents how to understand these influences, give them guidance on how to talk to their daughters about these negative images, and provide the tools to help girls make positive choices about the way they are in the world. In the tradition of books like Reviving Ophelia, Odd Girl Out, Queen Bees and Wannabees that examine the world of girls, this book promises to not only spark debate but help parents to help their daughters. ![]() Free Download Pacific Knits: 18 Irresistible Earthy Knits By Ludeman, Alexa; Wessel, Emily 2012 | 84 Pages | ISBN: 0987762818 | PDF | 11 MB Overview: Pacific Knits: 18 Irresistible Earthy Knits |
