Brooks English | January 1, 2014 | ISBN: 1870067827 | 354 pages | MOBI | 90 Mb RAF Fighter Command was established in July 1936 to provide the airborne element in the defence of Britain against air attack. The aerodromes under the Command described in this book came under the control of several Groups: No. 9 in the west, No. 10 covering the south-west, No. 11 in the south-east, No. 12 on the eastern side of the country, and Nos. 13 and 14 protecting the extreme north. In this volume the activities of over 90 airfields are described and illustrated in our 'then and now' theme, both on the ground and from above. Many, having served their purpose, have returned to farmland leaving only odd vestiges to recall their former role as front-line fighter stations. Others have succumbed to the encroachment of housing or industry or even been totally expunged from the map through mining activities. On the other hand, a number have continued to be used as airfields, either for sport or business flying, and some continue as major airports with modern facilities. Sadly the post-war years have witnessed the slow decline of the RAF presence at so many of their former bases, two having closed during our research for this book. And some have found a new lease of life with the Army . . . or even the Ministry of Justice! All came into their own during the six years of war and the scars from that battle are still evident if one cares to look. Mouldering buildings from the former era remain as poignant reminders of the airmen and women who once habited them . . . now standing almost as memorials to the thousands who never came through. This is their story. 800 illustrations ![]() Free Download Advances in VLSI, Signal Processing, Power Electronics, IoT, Communication and Embedded Systems English | 2023 | ISBN: 9819944430 | 538 Pages | PDF EPUB (True) | 81 MB This book comprises select peer-reviewed papers from the International Conference on VLSI, Signal Processing, Power Electronics, IoT, Communication, and Embedded Systems (VSPICE-2022). It employs the theory of social networks into the different levels of the Internet of Things (IoTs) and has brought new possibilities for the development of IoTs. Essentially, the SIoT is a subset of IoTs. It uses intelligent hardware and humans as the node, a social network as the organization type, the social relationship between things, things and humans, and between humans, formatting research methods and models with social network characteristics to realize the connection, service, and application of the IoTs. ![]() Free Download Advances in Nonlinear Observer Design for State and Parameter Estimation in Energy Systems English | 2023 | ISBN: 3031389239 | 401 Pages | PDF EPUB (True) | 19 MB This book reports on a set of advances relating to nonlinear observer design, with a special emphasis on high-gain observers. First, it covers the design of filters and their addition to the observer for reducing noise, a topic that has been so far neglected in the literature. Further, it describes the adaptive re-design of nonlinear observers to reduce the effect of parametric uncertainty. It discusses several limitations of classical methods, presenting a set of successfull solutions, which are mathematically formalised through Lyapunov stability analysis, and in turn validated via numerical simulations. In the second part of the book, two applications of the adaptive nonlinear observers are described, such in the estimation of the liquid water in a hydrogen fuel cell and in the solution of a common cybersecurity problem, i.e. false data injection attacks in DC microgrids. All in all, this book offers a comprehensive report on the state-of-the-art in nonlinear observer design for energy systems, including mathematical demonstrations, and numerical and and experimental validations. ![]() Free Download Advances in Medical Imaging, Detection, and Diagnosis English | 2023 | ISBN: 9814877468 | 1426 Pages | PDF (True) | 1.54 GB Medical care is the most critical issue of our time and will be so for the foreseeable future. In this regard, the pace and sophistication of advances in medicine in the past two decades have been truly breathtaking. This has necessitated a growing need for comprehensive reference resources that highlight current issues in specific sectors of medicine. Keeping this in mind, each volume in the Current Issues in Medicine series is a stand‐alone text that provides a broad survey of various important topics in a focused area of medicine-all accomplished in a user-friendly yet interconnected format. This volume addresses advances in medical imaging, detection, and diagnostic technologies. Technological innovations in these sectors of medicine continue to provide for safer, more accurate, and faster diagnosis for patients. This translates into superior prognosis and better patient compliance, while reducing morbidity and mortality. Hence, it is imperative that practitioners stay current with these latest advances to provide the best care for nursing and clinical practices. While recognizing how expansive and multifaceted these areas of medicine are, Advances in Medical Imaging, Detection, and Diagnosis addresses crucial recent progress, integrating the knowledge and experience of experts from academia and the clinic. The multidisciplinary approach reflected makes this volume a valuable reference resource for medical practitioners, medical students, nurses, fellows, residents, undergraduate and graduate students, educators, venture capitalists, policymakers, and biomedical researchers. A wide audience will benefit from having this volume on their bookshelf: health care systems, the pharmaceutical industry, academia, and government. ![]() Free Download Advances in IoT and Security with Computational Intelligence: Proceedings of ICAISA 2023, Volume 2 English | 2023 | ISBN: 9819950872 | 418 Pages | PDF (True) | 14 MB The book is a collection of peer-reviewed best-selected research papers presented at the International Conference on Advances in IoT and Security with AI (ICAISA 2023), organized by Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College, University of Delhi, New Delhi, India, in collaboration with University of Canberra, Canberra, Australia, and NIT, Arunachal Pradesh, Itanagar, AP, India, during March 24-25, 2023. The issues like food crisis and declining agro-productivity, post-pandemic food security, zonation and mapping technique viewing food crisis, biotechnology and sustainable agricultural, scaling hunger indices, health hazard and food crisis, changing climate and food availability, consumer load and fertilizer usage, growing demand and increasing usage of harmful chemical in agro-fields are regarded as serious concerns. Thereafter, the scope of sustainable agricultural potentiality (SAP) modeling, amidst the arena of deforestation and encroachment of new cultivable land, impact of pandemic on sustainable agriculture, using wastewater as non-sustainable agricultural practice, applying geospatial techniques on extreme weather susceptibility and agro-production, soil erosion and poor agricultural production, questioning shifting cultivation on the issue of sustainability, meteorological drought and irrigational gaps, occupational mobility and loss of agricultural heritage, farm-excreta burning and air quality index (AQI), GI-Science and sustainable agro-management, community preparedness in food crisis management, multi-criteria hunger index (MCHI), climate change declining sustainable agro-production are worth some. Almost the entire world has recently suffered from several natural and human-induced problems, among which food crisis and unsustainable agriculture throw significant challenges to human society. Contrastingly, if modern technology and means, with advanced monitoring and calibration methodology and policy guidance, can help, it will undoubtedly reduce half of the world's problems and ensure the future survival of human society. In addition, this approach also can minimize the other partially linked problems, like climate change and food shortage, livelihood crisis, environmental refugees, international trade balance, global food supply chain interruption, the ever-expanding gap between rich and poor, and so on. Therefore, properly nurturing the knowledge on the application of GI-Science for an agriculturally sustainable society and their monitoring and management can curtail the gap between science, policy, and the ground-level scenario concerned. ![]() Free Download Advanced Tung Style Acupuncture: The Dao Ma Needling Technique of Master Tung Ching Chang by Ching Chang Tung, James H Maher English | January 1, 2005 | ISBN: 097590969X | 358 pages | PDF (Converted) | 96 Mb This series of books presents copious acupuncture prescriptions gathered from the English and Chinese language Tung Acupuncture literature in the translator's personal library.
