Nevertheless, it's frequently back-burnered. When asked why, managers say the number one reason is that they just don't have time-for the meetings, the forms, the administrative hoops. But there's a better way. And it's surprisingly simple: frequent short conversations with employees about their career goals and options integrated seamlessly into the normal course of business. Beverly Kaye, coauthor of the bestselling Love 'Em or Lose 'Em, and Julie Winkle Giulioni identify three broad types of conversations that will increase employees' awareness of their strengths, weaknesses, and interests; point out where their organization and their industry are headed; and help them pull all of that together to design their own up-to-the-minute, personalized career plans.Help Them Grow or Watch Them Go is filled with practical tips, guidelines, and templates, as well as nearly a hundred suggested conversation questions. ![]() George D. Chryssides, "Heaven's Gate: Postmodernity and Popular Culture in a Suicide Group " English | ISBN: 0754663744 | 2016 | 228 pages | EPUB, MOBI | 442 KB + 2 MB On March 26, 1997, the bodies of 39 men and women were found in an opulent mansion outside San Diego, all victims of a mass suicide. Messages left by the Heaven's Gate group indicate that they believed they were stepping out of their 'physical containers' in order to ascend to a UFO that was arriving in the wake of the Hale-Bopp comet. The Heaven's Gate suicides were part of a series of major incidents involving New Religions in the 1990s, as the new millennium approached. Despite the major attention that Heaven's Gate attracted at the time of the suicides, there have been relatively few scholarly studies. This anthology on Heaven's Gate includes a combination of articles previously published in academic journals, some new writings from experts in the field, and some original Heaven's Gate documents. All the material is expertly brought together under the editorship of George D. Chryssides. ![]() Heartset - Your Key To A Limitless Mindset: How To Listen To Your Heart And Find Your Soul by David Poole English | 2022 | ISBN: N/A | ASIN: B09PYLJ7GM | 270 pages | EPUB | 1.36 Mb If changing your mindset has been an uphill struggle, you are not on your own, millions of people are going through the motions of discomfort and failure. In an entertaining series of anecdotes, he describes the daily life and customs of its people, his relations with colleagues and students at the local secondary school, and the events leading up to his 'removal' from the town he had come to regard as home, his transfer to Riyadh, and final departure from the country. In the 1960s Aneiza was still living partly in the age of Charles Doughty, the 19th-century explorer who stayed there for some weeks in the 1870s, and architecturally the town had changed little over the intervening decades. On the other hand, its mid-20th-century inhabitants were very much aware of what was happening in the wider world and felt deeply involved with events in the region. This involvement is reflected in a chapter on inter-Arab politics, the Six-Day War of June 1967, and its causes and aftermath. The author's story does not end in 1970. In 'Journey to Makkah' he writes of his transition from agnosticism to Islam and gives us an account of his pilgrimage to Makkah in 1996 in the company of one of his old students from Aneiza. Finally, in 'Aneiza Revisited', he describes the town in its 21st-century incarnation during his return visit in 2011. Despite Aneiza's material transformation, however, with its concrete and glass buildings and fast food outlets, he found that, despite looking very different, it had still managed to retain its intimate social character and essential congeniality. ![]() HUBBLE FOCUS: Endlessness Universe by Roman F Martinu English | July 29, 2020 | ISBN: 9403604840 | 81 pages | EPUB | 3.66 Mb This book, Hubble Focus: Endlessness Universe Edition I, highlights some of Hubble's recent discoveries about the homes of stars, nebulas, and planets: galaxies-from our very own galaxy, the Milky Way, to the most distant galaxies anyone has ever seen.
