Free Download Om Prakash Dwivedi, "Representations of Precarity in South Asian Literature in English"
English | ISBN: 3031068165 | 2022 | 323 pages | EPUB | 537 KB
This book analyzes precarious conditions and their manifestations in recent South Asian literature in English. Themes of disability, rural-urban division, caste, terrorism, poverty, gender, necropolitics, and uneven globalization are discussed in this book by established and emerging international scholars. Drawing their arguments from literary works rooted in the neoliberal period, the chapters show how the extractive ideology of neoliberalism invades the cultural, political, economic, and social spheres of postcolonial South Asia. The book explores different forms of "precarity" to investigate the vulnerable and insecure life conditions embodied in the everyday life of South Asia, enabling the reader to see through the rhetoric of "rising Asia".

The techniques used to represent architectural design are examined in Representational Techniques for Architecture. A broad array of methodologies for developing architectural ideas are described, ranging from two- and three-dimensional conceptual sketches, through to the working drawings required for the construction of buildings. The book offers a range of practical drawing methods, showing how to present and plan layouts, make conceptual sketches, work with scale, use collage and photomontage to create contemporary images, along with techniques to prepare and plan design portfolios. The book also deals with contemporary computer modelling and drawing techniques.
In the second edition, 25% of the material is new: many of the images have been updated, and new case studies have been added, for example architect studios such as Coophimmelblau and C J Lim/Studio 8 architects. Additional case studies are drawn from American and international architectural practices and studios. Free Download Isabella Schwaderer, "Religious Entanglements Between Germans and Indians, 1800-1945 "
English | ISBN: 3031403746 | 2024 | 343 pages | EPUB | 21 MB
Religion as a form of cultural expression constitutes a critical element in the relationship between Germany and India. The discovery of Indian traditions in Germany and re-interpretations of those traditions in India fueled not only new theological and philosophical explorations, but also extensive innovations in the fields of music, dance, bodily experience, and political intervention. Seeking to uncover the enfolding of colonial thought structures through presentations of the Self, while placing them in the context of global colonial value chains that connected the peripheries with the centre, this interdisciplinary volume addresses India through the lens of an entangled relationship. Adopting the position that the acceleration of communication, technical development, and colonisation locally triggered re-interpretations of the religious sphere, This volume takes a look at the period from 1800 to the end of National Socialism, tracing the strands of an Indo-Germanic religion inthe making as it goes along. A special emphasis is placed on the artistic expressions of religious experience including re-enactments of musical compositions and dance configurations, which were created to embody India in Germany.

Free Download Rejuvenation and Longevity: Introduction to Rejuvenology by Khachik K. Muradian, Vadim E. Fraifeld
English | September 4, 2024 | ISBN: 303164994X | 138 pages | MOBI | 1.26 Mb
This book is a systematic collection and critical analysis of current information on rejuvenation, starting from the evolutionary aspects of the origin of life, immortality, and aging. Models, mechanisms, and types of rejuvenation are the key subjects of the book. Processes like cellular reprogramming, resetting of the aging clock, immortal unicellulars and cell cultures are explored through the lens of rejuvenation. Recent discoveries in this field offer a nuanced view of rejuvenation that has fascinated mankind since early history.
There is evidence, though still controversial, indicating that biological time could be reversible. Indeed, under specific experimental conditions, cells can be moved back and forth along the age axis. Differentiation status and replicative age of cells can be modified not only by defined transcription factors, but also by 'cocktails' of small molecules originating from natural substances or well-known longevity-promoting drugs. Still in its infancy, such findings open up the perspective of in vivo rejuvenation trials. Special attention is given to the quasi-immortal and extremely long-lived multicellular animal species as well as to the role of rejuvenation in treatment of pathology and healthy aging.
