Low-Wage Work in Germany
Gerhard Bosch, Claudia Weinkopf, "Low-Wage Work in Germany"
English | 2008 | ISBN: 0871540622 | PDF | pages: 336 | 1.2 mb
In recent years, the German government has intentionally expanded the low-wage work sector in an effort to reduce exceptionally high levels of unemployment. As a result, the share of the German workforce employed in low-paying jobs now rivals that of the United States. Low Wage Work in Germany examines both the federal policies and changing economic conditions that have driven this increase in low-wage work. The new "mini-job" reflects the federal government's attempt to make certain low-paying jobs attractive to both employers and employees. Employers pay a low flat rate for benefits, and employees, who work a limited number of hours per week, are exempt from social security and tax contributions. Other factors, including slow economic growth, a declining collective bargaining system, and the influx of foreign workers, also contribute to the growing incidence of low-wage work. Yet while both Germany and the United States have large shares of low-wage workers, German workers receive health insurance, four weeks of paid vacation, and generous old age support―benefits most low-wage workers in the United States can only dream of. The German experience offers an important opportunity to explore difficult trade-offs between unemployment and low-wage work. Love Actually
Love Actually By Richard Curtis
2003 | 242 Pages | ISBN: 0312318499 | PDF | 14 MB
Love Actually is the highly awaited new screenplay and directorial debut from phenomenally popular screenwriter Richard Curtis. Weaving together the stories of ten couples, the movie is as real as our own lives, and as funny, wise, and poignant as only Richard Curtis ( Four Weddings and a Funeral ) could create. Set in contemporary London just before Christmas, the cast includes a lovelorn Prime Minister, an aging rock star, a sexually ambitious assistant, a newly widowed stepfather, a beautiful housekeeper, a straying husband, and other characters entangled in the silly, sloppy, sexy, sweet business of finding love. The film's stellar actors include Hugh Grant, Emma Thompson, Alan Rickman, Colin Firth, Liam Neeson, Laura Linney, and others. Introduced by Richard Curtis, the book features the full screenplay plus outtakes, behind-the-scenes snapshots, and more. With marvelous full-color photographs throughout, this smart, funny, romantic book is a valentine for anyone who still believes that despite the madness and uncertainty of modern life, love actually is all around.

Living the Brand How to Transform Every Member of Your Organization Into a Brand Champion
Living the Brand: How to Transform Every Member of Your Organization Into a Brand Champion By Nicholas Ind
2007 | 209 Pages | ISBN: 0749450835 | PDF | 6 MB
A company's workforce is its most valuable asset. It is the employees who translate an organization's strategy into reality, interact with consumers, and determine the corporate brand. This updated edition of Living the Brand demonstrates how a participatory approach can enhance employee commitment, improve service standards, and focus effort to deliver business goals. This practical and inspirational book is about how organizations can empower their employees and create ''brand champions.'' Using international examples, Nicholas Ind shows that employees flourish in organizations where they identify with the brand, and organizations flourish when the brand creates meaning for the employee. Living the Brand shows how to make this happen.
