Don't Die Broke How Annuities Can Guarantee Your Income and Keep Your Retirement from Going Belly-Up
Free Download Don't Die Broke : How Annuities Can Guarantee Your Income and Keep Your Retirement from Going Belly-Up By David J. Reindel; Steve Marsh; Fran Tarkenton
2009 | 193 Pages | ISBN: 1932841490 | PDF | 1 MB
A plain-spoken, very accessible read, Don't Die Broke has a voice and honesty akin to Rich Dad, Poor Dad as it paints a logical argument for the preservation of assets - as opposed to a risk-prone obsession with the accumulation of assets. Calling for a paradigm shift in the way we think about retirement planning, David Reindel's message is long overdue, right on the money, and will rescue readers of all ages from many a market debacle in the coming years. Immersed as we are in what looks like a long-term climate of financial uncertainty, many investors have already endured market meltdowns, recession, volatile market "adjustments," and ongoing forecasts calling for more economic instability in the years to come. Don't Die Broke accordingly addresses consumer angst, offering key solutions for investment risk and volatility. As aptly noted in the book's foreword, by Fran Tarkenton, "readers nationwide urgently need the solutions in Don't Die Broke." Designed to be a timeless source of financial perspective, the book's common-sense approach to retirement planning will provide ongoing help for everyone--particularly Boomers nearing retirement--who need to exchange their risk-based investment habits for preservation-based common sense. The key to Reindel's advocacy for safer retirement planning is the humble annuity, a long-misunderstood financial instrument that is about to see a major return to favor. Why have these time-honored investment tools generated so much controversy in recent years? Don't Die Broke takes a frank look at those issues, defining little-known perils facing retirement plans for an upcoming era of economic uncertainty. Reindel, a national authority on annuities, explains how they fit into a safe and sane retirement plan in language that's clear, straightforward, and focused on the needs of people whose retirement is rapidly approaching. This book is focused on ideas and conepts that will help it outlive the shelf-life of easily dated annuity guides. The comprehensive expertise Reindel displays will establish him as a teacher's teacher for professional financial planners. Given the historic validity of safe-retirement planning, this reader-friendly resource is likely to become a classic in the retirement planning genre, sure to survive the gyrations of market ups and downs, changes in annuity/insurance products, and other elements that quickly date the typical, personal-finance "how-to." Meaning: this book will survive the test of time, and the time has most definitely come for Don't Die Broke.

Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking
Free Download Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking By Susan C. Mapp
2016 | 177 Pages | ISBN: 0199300607 | EPUB | 1 MB
Human trafficking is a thriving business around the world. Although attention had been focused initially on those who were trafficked over international borders for sexual exploitation, awareness has slowly increased of the trafficking of US citizens within its own borders, including its children. However, due to the still-evolving research on this issue, and the subsequent reliance on mass media, there is a lack of accurate knowledge about this crime that this book seeks to address.Pulling together scholarly information from diverse fields including social work, psychology, and biology, Susan Mapp explores the particular risk factors (such as poverty, child maltreatment, and being a sexual minority) that place children at higher risk for being trafficked. The different methods of Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking (DMST)--pimp-controlled, gang-controlled, familial, and survival - are explained, including how children come to be involved in them and the mechanisms by which they occur. Assisting those being trafficked to leave the life is a difficult process, and this book explains why. It is important for everyone to act on what can be done to fight this crime; suggestions for professionals, as well as "everyday citizens," are offered, together with a list of resources.

Does Private Sector Participation Improve Performance in Electricity and Water Distribution
Free Download Does Private Sector Participation Improve Performance in Electricity and Water Distribution? By Katharina Gassner; Alexander A. Popov; Nataliya Pushak
2008 | 118 Pages | ISBN: 0821377159 | PDF | 1 MB
This study examines the question of private versus public performance in a natural monopoly setting. It analyzes data from 301 utilities with private sector participation (PSP) and 926 utilities without PSP in 71 developing and transition economies to evaluate the impact of PSP on firm performance in electricity distribution and water and sanitation services. Private participation is shown to be associated with an increase in connections, labor productivity, and bill collection rates, and a decrease in employment and electricity distributional losses.

Divorce Poison How to Protect Your Family from Bad-mouthing and Brainwashing
Free Download Divorce Poison: How to Protect Your Family from Bad-mouthing and Brainwashing By Richard A. Warshak
2011 | 352 Pages | ISBN: 0061863262 | EPUB | 1 MB
Your ex-spouse is bad mouthing you to your children, constantly portraying you in a negative light, perhaps even trying to turn them against you. If you handle the situation ineffectively, your relationship with your children could suffer. You could lose their respect, lose their affections-even, in extreme cases, lose all contact with them. The conventional advice is to do nothing, that fighting fire with fire will only result in greater injury to the children. But after years of consulting parents who heeded such advice with no success, Dr. Richard Warshak is convinced that this approach is wrong. It doesn't work, and parents are left feeling helpless and hopeless. DIVORCE POISON instead offers a blueprint for effective response. In it, you will learn how to distinguish different types of criticism, how and why parents manipulate their children, how to detect these maneuvers, and how these practices damage children. Most importantly, you'll discover powerful strategies to preserve and rebuild loving relationships with your children.DIVORCE POISON is a time-tested work that gives parents powerful strategies to preserve and rebuild loving relationships with their children-and provides practical advice from legal and mental-health professionals to help their clients and safeguard the welfare of children. Whether they are perpetrators of divorce poison, victims of it, or both, parents who heed Dr. Warshak's advice will enable their children to maintain love and respect for their parents-even if their parents no longer love and respect each other.

Divorce Emotional Impact and Therapeutic Interventions
Free Download Divorce : Emotional Impact and Therapeutic Interventions By Salman Akhtar
2016 | 152 Pages | ISBN: 1442279311 | EPUB | 1 MB
Divorce: Emotional Impact and Therapeutic Interventions offers a broad survey of psychodynamic observations on the antecedents and consequences of divorce. In this volume, distinguished clinical psychologists and psychoanalysts explore the emotional divorce that invariably precedes the one granted by a court and focus as well upon the emotional impact of the actual divorce upon the spouses, children, friends, and family. Examining a variety of modern families, chapters address both short-term and long-term sequelae of divorce, transgenerational reverberations, and the occasional, unsung benefits of divorce. The concept of a "good-enough divorce" further illustrates how the adverse effects of divorce can be kept at a minimum, and the process itself can allow patients unexpected self-reflection. A valuable resource for clinicians, Divorce: Emotional Impact and Therapeutic Interventions demonstrates how therapists and patients can work through a divorce to yield deeper insights into the self, greater tolerance of one's own limitations, and lay the groundwork for contentment with a future partner.

Divining History Prophetism, Messianism and the Development of the Spirit
Free Download Divining History : Prophetism, Messianism and the Development of the Spirit By Jayne Svenungsson
2016 | 240 Pages | ISBN: 1785331736 | PDF | 1 MB
For millennia, messianic visions of redemption have inspired men and women to turn against unjust and oppressive orders. Yet these very same traditions are regularly decried as antecedents to the violent and authoritarian ideologies of modernity. Informed in equal parts by theology and historical theory, this book offers a provocative exploration of this double-edged legacy. Author Jayne Svenungsson rigorously pursues a middle path between utopian arrogance and an enervated postmodernism, assessing the impact of Jewish and Christian theologies of history on subsequent thinkers, and in the process identifying a web of spiritual and intellectual motifs extending from ancient Jewish prophets to contemporary radicals such as Giorgio Agamben and Slavoj Zizek.

Divine Humility God's Morally Perfect Being
Free Download Divine Humility: God's Morally Perfect Being By Matthew A. Wilcoxen
2019 | 237 Pages | ISBN: 1481309986 | PDF | 1 MB
God is all-powerful. God is all-knowing. God is ever-present. But is God humble?Though the answer may seem obvious, humility is rarely identified as one of God's attributes. Christianity has traditionally emphasized an array of divine attributes centering around omnipotence. In Divine Humility, Matthew Wilcoxen attempts to supplement traditional study of the godhead by focusing on God's humility. Wilcoxen first examines how to refer properly to God's being. Contending with those who say that human concepts cannot communicate God's being at all, Wilcoxen articulates an account of theological concepts that holds together simultaneously both God's objectivity―that he is "for us"―and God's subjectivity―that he remains yet totally free. Wilcoxen argues that the concept best positioned to achieve this objective is humility, which, in the Christian tradition, has been considered the paragon of virtues and should thus fittingly be attributed to God's character.Wilcoxen next explores divine humility through the work of three different theologians―Augustine, Karl Barth, and Katherine Sonderegger. Augustine, Wilcoxen argues, ascribes humility to God in a tantalizing way, but fails to explain further its doctrinal implications. Karl Barth articulates a more developed doctrine of divine humility by linking God's divine being to his redemptive work. But Barth's account ultimately suffers because it flatly equates humility with obedience and divides the divine will into the separate entities of the Father and the Son. It is the recent work of Katherine Sonderegger that best articulates an account of divine humility that carries forward Augustine's mantle and overcomes the problems in Barth's account. By connecting God's humility to divine energy, Sonderegger shows how God can be near to creation without overwhelming it.Ultimately, Wilcoxen contends that humility's importance as a divine attribute indicates that it should be fully considered in any Christian doctrine of God. Divine Humility serves as an important reminder to Christians that God, as powerful as He is, is also a God of great magnanimity and love.

Divine Election A Catholic Orientation in Dogmatic and Ecumenical Perspective
Free Download Divine Election : A Catholic Orientation in Dogmatic and Ecumenical Perspective By Eduardo J. Echeverria
2016 | 316 Pages | ISBN: 1625649924 | EPUB | 1 MB
This dogmatic study addresses two perennial questions. First, how do we reconcile God's sovereignty with human freedom, not just in general, but particularly with respect to the Church's full understanding of God's plan of salvation as a work of grace? Second (and equally crucial) is the question of how we reconcile God's universal salvific will with the mystery of predestination, election, and reprobation. The author of this study does theology within the normative tradition of confessional Catholicism, and thus in the light of Catholic teaching. But this study is also an ecumenical work, indeed, a work in receptive ecumenism, and hence he listens attentively to the reflections and arguments not only of his fellow Catholic theologians (Matthias Joseph Scheeben and Hans Urs von Balthasar) but also theologians of the Evangelical and Reformed traditions (John Calvin, Herman Bavinck, Karl Barth, and G. C. Berkouwer). This book concludes with a Catholic synthesis regarding the doctrine of divine election in dogmatic and ecumenical perspective.
