The Geometry of Involute Gears
Free Download The Geometry of Involute Gears by J. R. Colbourne
English | PDF | 1987 | 539 Pages | ISBN : 1461291461 | 27.5 MB
Of all the many types of machine elements which exist today, gears are among the most commonly used. The basic idea of a wheel with teeth is extremely simple, and dates back several thousand years. It is obvious to any observer that one gear drives another by means of the meshing teeth, and to the person who has never studied gears, it might seem that no further explanation is required. It may therefore come as a surprise to discover the large quantity of geometric theory that exists on the subject of gears, and to find that there is probably no branch of mechanical engineering where theory and practice are more closely linked. Enormous improvements have been made in the performance of gears during the last two hundred years or so, and this has been due principally to the careful attention given to the shape of the teeth. The theoretical shape of the tooth profile used in most modern gears is an involute. When precision gears are cut by modern gear-cutting machines, the accuracy with which the actual teeth conform to their theoretical shape is quite remarkable, and far exceeds the accuracy which is attained in the manufacture of most other types of machine elements. The first part of this book deals with spur gears, which are gears with teeth that are parallel to the gear axis. The second part describes helical gears, whose teeth form helices about the gear axis.

The Flying Man Otto Lilienthal-History, Flights and Photographs
Free Download The Flying Man: Otto Lilienthal-History, Flights and Photographs by Markus Raffel
English | EPUB(True) | 2022 | 352 Pages | ISBN : 3030950328 | 218.4 MB
"Of all the men who attacked the flying problem in the 19th century, Otto Lilienthal was easily the most important. His greatness appeared in every phase of the problem. No one equaled him in power to draw new recruits to the cause; no one equaled him in fullness and dearness of understanding of the principles of flight; no one did so much to convince the world of the advantages of curved wing surfaces; and no one did so much to transfer the problem of human flight to the open air where it belonged."

The Evolution of Violence
Free Download The Evolution of Violence by Todd K. Shackelford
English | PDF | 2014 | 250 Pages | ISBN : 1461493137 | 3 MB
Our contemporary capacity for understanding and empathy suggests that people are becoming less disposed to violence. At the same time, current developments in war technologies and the popularity of blood-soaked movies and video games point to the opposite conclusion. The works of Darwin hold crucial keys to the puzzle, yet his theories-and evolutionary theory in general-are often dismissed as relics, or worse.

The Electronic Design Automation Handbook
Free Download The Electronic Design Automation Handbook by irk Jansen (Director of ASIC Design Center)
English | PDF (True) | 2003 | Pages | ISBN : 1402075022 | 14.1 MB
When I attended college we studied vacuum tubes in our junior year. At that time an average radio had ?ve vacuum tubes and better ones even seven. Then transistors appeared in 1960s. A good radio was judged to be one with more thententransistors. Latergoodradioshad15-20transistors and after that everyone stopped counting transistors. Today modern processors runing personal computers have over 10milliontransistorsandmoremillionswillbeaddedevery year. The difference between 20 and 20M is in complexity, methodology and business models. Designs with 20 tr- sistors are easily generated by design engineers without any tools, whilst designs with 20M transistors can not be done by humans in reasonable time without the help of Prof. Dr. Gajski demonstrates the Y-chart automation. This difference in complexity introduced a paradigm shift which required sophisticated methods and tools, and introduced design automation into design practice. By the decomposition of the design process into many tasks and abstraction levels the methodology of designing chips or systems has also evolved. Similarly, the business model has changed from vertical integration, in which one company did all the tasks from product speci?cation to manufacturing, to globally distributed, client server production in which most of the design and manufacturing tasks are outsourced.

The Drift Diffusion Equation and Its Applications in MOSFET Modeling
Free Download The Drift Diffusion Equation and Its Applications in MOSFET Modeling by Wilfried Hänsch
English | PDF | 1991 | 285 Pages | ISBN : 3709190975 | 43.6 MB
To be perfect does not mean that there is nothing to add, but rather there is nothing to take away Antoine de Saint-Exupery The drift-diffusion approximation has served for more than two decades as the cornerstone for the numerical simulation of semiconductor devices. However, the tremendous speed in the development of the semiconductor industry demands numerical simulation tools that are efficient and provide reliable results. This makes the development of a simulation tool an interdisciplinary task in which physics, numerical algorithms, and device technology merge. For the sake of an efficient code there are trade-offs between the different influencing factors. The numerical performance of a program that is highly flexible in device types and the geometries it covers certainly cannot compare with a program that is optimized for one type of device only. Very often the device is sufficiently described by a two dimensional geometry. This is the case in a MOSFET, for example, if the gate length is small compared with the gate width. In these cases the geometry reduces to the specification of a two-dimensional device. Here again the simplest geometries, which are planar or at least rectangular surfaces, will give the most efficient numerical codes. The device engineer has to decide whether this reduced description of the real device is still suitable for his purposes.
