Civil 3Dsoftware from Autodesk addresses the needs of civil engineering companies involved in standalone and BIM (building information modelling) Civil engineering projects. Built on a familiar AutoCAD platform Civil 3D has been specifically geared to address the challenging needs of civil engineers around the world involved in complex and demanding civil engineering projects such as land development, transportation and even water based engineering projects.
TheInfrastructure Parts Editoris a parametric shape editing tool for creating parts catalogs that are compatible with Autodesk InfraWorks and Autodesk Civil 3D. Once you install the Parts Editor , you can open the Parts Editor by clicking the Parts Editor icon from within Autodesk InfraWorks or Autodesk Civil 3D. Users who have experience with Autodesk Inventor and shape modeling can also create custom parametric component parts and assemblies with the Infrastructure Parts Shape Utilities tools for Autodesk Inventor, which can then be used by the Parts Editor.
Note: Parametric bridge and road components are not supported by the Parts Editor. Instead, you can add parametric bridge components and road decorations to the Style Palette.
