PSP McQ is an equalizer plug-in designed to capture the sonic character and functionality of classic console equalizers, with particular inspiration from the EQ sections found in MCI consoles. Alongside its analog-oriented design, it provides additional controls for shaping frequencies and adjusting the response of individual filter bands.
PSP McQ is suitable for detailed track processing as well as refining separation and definition within a mix. Its midrange filters feature gain-dependent Q behavior, while the output section includes a second-generation SAT(uration) algorithm for controlling peaks and adding analog-style overdrive when driven harder.
Software Overview
PSP McQ combines the characteristics of classic console equalization with additional filtering and tone-shaping controls. It includes adjustable high-pass and low-pass filters, resonance controls for shelving filters, optional bell modes for the low and high bands, and three nominal Q values for the midrange filters.
The output section places the SAT(uration) stage after the output level control in the internal signal path. Its ceiling is set slightly below 0 dBFS, allowing the algorithm to help protect downstream software or hardware from digital clipping while providing additional saturation when the signal level is increased.

Why Choose PSP McQ
PSP McQ provides a combination of classic console-inspired equalization and additional controls for modern mixing workflows. Its flexible filter configuration and gain-dependent midrange Q allow users to shape individual tracks, while the SAT(uration) stage adds another option for managing output peaks and introducing harmonic coloration.
