POLYREX is a virtual polyphonic synthesizer inspired by classic Japanese analog synthesizers from the early 1980s. Developed by Safari Audio, it combines vintage-style oscillator tones, expressive modulation, resonant filtering, and built-in effects to create sounds that range from warm, nostalgic keys to evolving atmospheric textures.
Designed for music producers, composers, sound designers, and electronic musicians, POLYREX provides hands-on controls for shaping sounds without relying on complicated menu navigation. Its sound palette covers dreamy pads, punchy basses, glassy plucks, warped chords, unstable tape-inspired keys, and cinematic synth textures.
The instrument combines the character of vintage poly synths with a more playful sonic approach. Oscillator shaping, pulse-width modulation, pitch movement, and envelope controls allow users to develop distinctive tones for electronic music production, melodic arrangements, and atmospheric compositions
.
Software Overview
Safari Audio POLYREX is a synthesizer focused on vintage-inspired polyphonic sounds and accessible sound design. Its oscillator section provides square-wave tones, sub-oscillator reinforcement, and a noise generator for adding texture, grit, and percussive elements. The filter and envelope section helps shape the tonal character and response of each sound. A resonant filter, high-pass filter, and ADSR envelope provide control over brightness, low-frequency content, and the attack, decay, sustain, and release stages.
POLYREX also includes performance and modulation controls for introducing movement into sustained notes and melodic phrases. Its arpeggiator, glide function, and low-frequency oscillator make it possible to create rhythmic sequences, pitch transitions, and evolving synth textures. Built-in chorus, delay, and spring effects add width, repetition, and spatial character without requiring separate effect plugins for these particular treatments.
Key Features
