What you'll learn
⚡ Design enterprise architecture patterns for manufacturing, retail, banking, insurance, pharma, and healthcare scenarios.
⚡ Evaluate architecture trade-offs across security, governance, scalability, AI readiness, and cost optimization.
⚡ Run discovery workshops and translate business needs into clear enterprise architecture requirements.
⚡ Plan and govern enterprise programs using estimation, team models, vendor strategy, roadmaps, and risk management.
⚡ Compare startup vs enterprise architecture decisions, and data mesh vs centralized architecture models.
⚡ Design global multi-region architectures with the right balance of performance, compliance, and governance.
⚡ Apply architecture review frameworks to assess options, document decisions, and justify trade-offs.
⚡ Manage enterprise stakeholders and support phased delivery of large transformation programs successfully.
Requirements
❗ A basic understanding of data, BI, cloud, or enterprise technology concepts will be helpful.
❗ No advanced programming knowledge is required, because this course focuses on architecture thinking and enterprise decision-making.
❗ Learners should be interested in enterprise architecture, industry scenarios, and large program delivery.
❗ Some familiarity with business systems, reporting, analytics, or solution design will make the course easier to follow.
❗ A willingness to think in terms of trade-offs, governance, stakeholders, and real-world delivery constraints is recommended.
❗ This course is best taken after basic foundation-level architecture or data platform concepts, but motivated learners can still follow along.
Description
Enterprise architecture is not only about creating technical diagrams. A successful architect must understand how architecture changes across industries, how to evaluate competing design options, and how to convert an architecture vision into a practical enterprise delivery program.
This course is Phase 4 of the Enterprise Data, BI and AI Architecture Series. It focuses on two important capabilities required by enterprise architects: designing architecture for real industry scenarios and understanding how large enterprise programs are planned, governed and delivered.
In the first part of the course, you will explore architecture patterns for manufacturing, retail, pharmaceutical, banking, insurance and healthcare organizations. You will understand how requirements such as real-time analytics, artificial intelligence, security, compliance, global availability and cost influence architecture decisions.
You will also compare global and regional architecture patterns, startup and enterprise design priorities, centralized architecture and data mesh, and traditional platforms versus AI-first enterprise architecture.
In the second part, you will learn how enterprise programs actually operate. We will cover discovery workshops, requirement gathering, estimation techniques, large-program team structures, vendor strategies, delivery models, Agile and Waterfall approaches, architecture review boards, stakeholder management, risk escalation and phased program roadmaps.
Throughout the course, the focus remains practical. You will learn how to identify assumptions, evaluate trade-offs, communicate risks and select architecture patterns that can realistically be implemented by the organization.
By the end of this course, you will be able to
✨ Design architecture patterns for different industries and regulatory environments.
✨ Evaluate security, governance, performance, scalability and cost trade-offs.
✨ Compare centralized, distributed, regional and AI-first architecture models.
✨ Conduct structured discovery and requirement-gathering workshops.
✨ Estimate enterprise programs using assumptions, ranges and complexity factors.
✨ Define appropriate team, vendor and delivery models.
✨ Establish architecture governance and review processes.
✨ Communicate effectively with business, technical and executive stakeholders.
✨ Create phased roadmaps that balance quick wins with long-term architecture goals.
✨ Identify and manage architecture and delivery risks.
This course is suitable for solution architects, data architects, BI architects, cloud architects, technical leads, consultants, program managers and experienced developers who want to move toward enterprise architecture responsibilities.
A foundational understanding of data platforms, BI, cloud or enterprise applications will be useful. This course does not require advanced programming because the primary focus is architecture decision-making and enterprise delivery.
Udemy requires course descriptions to be at least 200 words and recommends detailed, original landing-page content; this version is designed to meet that expectation.
