Description

Build a Generative AI Application with Microsoft Foundry, the Responses API, and Tools
Create a generative AI application with Microsoft Foundry, the Responses API, and tools capable of using information from both the Web and your own files.
This hands-on course guides you through creating a Microsoft Foundry project, deploying a GPT-5.2 model, and developing a Python chat application that uses the web_search and file_search tools.
Course

Description

Microsoft Foundry: Build a Generative AI Application with Tools
This Level 300 course is based on a practical Microsoft Learning exercise focused on developing a generative AI application with Microsoft Foundry and the Responses API.
You will begin by creating a Microsoft Foundry project and deploying GPT-5.2. You will then experiment with the web_search tool in the model playground before developing a Python application capable of searching for information on the Web and in PDF brochures using a vector store and the file_search tool.
The lab uses Microsoft Entra ID authentication to connect to the Azure OpenAI endpoint. Some of the technologies presented in this course may be in preview or under active development. As a result, you may encounter unexpected behavior, warnings, or errors.

What You Will Learn

By the end of this course, you will be able to
- Create and configure a Microsoft Foundry project.
- Find and deploy a GPT-5.2 model from the model catalog.
