Did you even want to build your own personal assistant ? Work with speech recognition or speech synthesis ?
Well.. then here is your chance !
In this course you will learn how to use the WebSpeech API, hosted by Modzilla, but freely available in Chrome, without any extra installation. (Use of the API is also 100% FREE !)
You will learn how to make your computer listen to voice commands, or transform spoken text to written text and vice versa.
You will learn how to create a personal assistant, much like Alexa or Siri.
In the end we will also create a little tool that will take your text and generate a sound clip with spoken word.
This is a hands-on course that can be done in any editor. It is -however- recommended that you install Google Chrome. The API just works best with Chrome.
Most of the programming will be done in HTML / CSS / JS / jQuery. So a little basic knowledge in that area will be very helpful.
Only the basics are taught. So from here on it's up to you to extend the app we've been creating in class.
