Description
This course presents the radar receiver in brief. It contains the radar receiver components such as antenna, duplexer, filter etc. The signal received at radar receiver contains noise. The noise figure and noise temperature. The antenna used at radar receiver is discussed. Discussion of array antenna and its type such as broadband array antenna and end fire array antenna is explained in this course. The radiation pattern and beamwidth requirement is explained in this course. The phased array antenna basic concepts and radiation pattern is explained in this course, The antenna at receiver mainly needs beam steering and beamwidth variables for various applications. The advantages and limitations of phased array antenna is explained. The display types used at radar receiver discussed with suitable applications. The duplexers used in radar receiver is explained. The duplexer has two type branch type and balanced type, which is explained in detail with suitable diagram. This course introduces the matched filter receiver. The matched filter receiver derivation is explained with mathematical terms and elaborated for suitable use. Its characteristics and response are explained in this course. It describes the correlation function and cross correlation receiver. Efficiency of non-matched filter is elaborated in this course. It explains the matched filter with white and non-white noise in this course.
