Description
The Mulligan Concept is a unique approach to manual therapy discovered and developed by Brian Mulligan F.N.Z.S.P. (Hon), Dip. M.T. from Wellington, New Zealand. This simple yet effective manual approach addresses musculoskeletal disorders with pain free manual joint "repositioning" techniques for restoration of function and abolition of pain. It is practiced since 1984 in 25 countries. About 2.4 thousand British physiotherapists make use of the techniques, about half of them on a daily or weekly basis. In USA specialized physiotherapists largely apply the concept's techniques for the lumbar spine (over 94% of the time).
This short cohesive manual therapy course offers an easy approach in manual therapy specifically for low back pain without having to take the full route to certification. This course covers the application of Sustained Natural Apophyseal Glides (SNAGs) and mobilization with movement (MWM) for the lower back. The course is designed for health care professionals who wish to broaden their existing manual therapy skills for use within their defined scope of practice.
The objectives of this course include
The rationale of the techniques as well as the principles for applying them.
A thorough presentation of the treatment techniques (SNAGs and MWMs).
A detailed presentation of the self-treatment techniques for low back pain.
A demonstration of the taping application.
The cognitive behavioral aspect of low back pain in reference to the Mulligan's Concept of Manual Therapy.
This concept will provide your clinical practice with a stimulating new dimension, giving you an extensive array of treatment options to manage your client list. Course participants can be assured that they will receive the latest information regarding the Mulligan concept. No previous experience of the Mulligan Concept is required to attend.
This is currently the only online course that exists for Mulligan's manual therapy for the low back pain and it is the best value for money, given that the student does not have to go the full course (which costs about 1K depending on the country). So, take this course because, as Brian Mulligan himself said, "there is no other concept in the field of manual therapy, that is applicable to the entire musculoskeletal system and that when indicated gives you an instant pain free result.''
